Hi Toby,
What is the saying, Your mileage will vary? Before I pulled the trigger on my build I researched the heck out of all the Bobber and singling threads I could find for well over a year. What I found is that if they did not make their own perches they added 4 to 4 1/2 inch spacers to bring...
Mine so far in Satin, was meant for the 1943 G7123...paint match from the back side of the cabs wiper color and a little spit! LOL! I chose satin as to cut down on the flat maintainess.

I am happy with the 5 inches. I had also deliberated with mounting underneath the frame and using aftermarket RockCrawler hangers...but in the end, I chose stability over a little more flex. I touched on the thought process as I posted...
After soaking mine for almost 2 months and taking the head off. I recommended for you anyway...if its that stuck if it gets unstuck it still needs boring...or just use it to take care of mosquitos.....if they can even survive up there! But mine was still stuck it was the lifters 3 were frozen...
I went with 5 as all the research I did showed the guys putting 4 plus inch spacers when they mounted them to the frame. If you went 3 you always have the option of adding a spacer (1-2 inches much better than 4+) under the springs or rearching (which is what I will do when I get rid of my...

Nice work!
edit: going for something a little robust (read lighter..trying for the featherlight title of m135/211s!) for my spare tire..but that cab roof WOW! I would love to have CAD drawings of that. Maybe in the future we could have a CAD drawings sticky...I am working on the M135 bed...
Here is my take on it,
If you had left it with the patina, rust and flakes as you probably got it in...no I would not fix it..your XM215 probably had the character of a battleworn bulldog...very cool. As you have painted it, I would fix it as my eye would be drawn to that ugly dent and not...
Look guys and Gal,
The OMV did a preemptive strike with the 52 letters sent out about registration, so they came out slugging as to not have the wonderful bill passed that Montana did.
We need to form a united front and get a senator or representative to change the onerous first sentence...
