    M135 S and M Build

First mock up! My driveway is so small the garage door hits the rear spring perch..more problems to overcome! I did have help yesterday! First time adding weight the perches where 15 lbs front each, 15.5 lbs rear each so 61 lbs but minus 24lbs for the last of the lower bogie mount. So...

    M35A3 6x6 to 4x4 project

I had looked into air springs as it would be the easiest option, my difference was I would have used a virtually level track bar. You would get a little more articulation. I wanted the stone cold reliability of springs. With using your plan it will be 100 times quicker than mine!

Nothing big, cleaned up the bottom of the bogie mount, got a better design than splicing into the support gusset of the bogie mount so cutting it all away...It's hard grinding above your head let me tell you! Got the gas tank off, was super clean till the rains came with only one small...

Louisiana - State Asking for NHTSA sticker for deuce titled and registered in 2009

I donated, as has been shown with the uniform codes, it's only a matter of time before it spreads to the state you are in. Thank You for getting the ball rolling!

Thanks M35a2, My grandfather once said that how will you get fed if you don't open your mouth? So I will ask if someone will sell a Mopar to me (who has turned others down) and so forth...it has paid off my whole life. To get to the point, I was being pessimistic about getting the rectangular...

    M135 S and M Build

Wow, I didn't even know my last post was a month ago! Aside from aquiring a few small pieces and realizing that the G506/M135 shackle pin bores are smaller than the M105 spring hangers (same as M35 front springs) And starting the hunt for them. Worked on the spring hanger mounts a little. The...

Roadside assistance that covers a deuce?

AAA in Los Angeles has trouble with cars and 3/4 ton stock bed trucks also... I simply was pointing out that AAA in Los Angeles was definitely not the answer to the question of this thread. The purpose of this thread is to find a roadside assistance insurance plan that WILL haul Deuces.

Roadside assistance that covers a deuce?

EXACTLY! I was only pointing out that Triple A in Los Angeles (in particular) was worthless and NOT an option...never got a tow less than 3 hours and sooner than 2 hours and 15 minutes less than time quoted. Also the fact that they said they had nothing to tow move it with and the truck that...

Got my Light Material Handling Crane (LMHC) today!

Was there a NSN or part number on the crate...have to put one of those on my wish list! Thanks

Roadside assistance that covers a deuce?

Triple A in CA would not move my M135 10 feet...say their trucks won't handle it (2 airheads and a manger later). Ask them for a tow company, they give phone number, driver shows up with a AAA wheel lift tow truck and gets it the last 10 feet in the driveway. After 28 years of terrible service I...

    M135 Bed measurements and pictures

Thanks Plowboy for the pictures...they confirm my suspicions! It helps this blind man to describe the elephant! Should have taken a video of the Goose flipping! LOL What is so cool is that alot of the construction details of this bed is exactly the same as the earlier WWII Chevy/GMC beds...

    M135 Bed measurements and pictures

I am adding the latest drawings at the first post of this thread and asking questions here. Could I get a picture underneath the bed at a 45 degree angle so I can see what channel they used at the front and rear of the bed and a seam if any. Going to start on detail/sectional drawings this week...

    M135 Bed measurements and pictures

Thanks so much! These measurements help a ton I can see why all the beds I have seen on craigslist have been in such great shape...The hat channels are large, have decent amount of surface support area, probably set the standard for 16" spacing ANNND between the bed thickness of an 1/8" its...

    M135 Bed measurements and pictures

The hat channel is in the last picture in my previous post with the arrows saying "welded?" Guage size is appreciated also! Yes, I too searched both TM sets and got some of the inside bed numbers but not much and one measurement was ambiguous. Thanks Duanne and Dave...is that a Double D?

    M135 Bed measurements and pictures

I have found dimensions on a G506 Bed that I will adapt, but still want a few measurements to make it look right. 1) Inside bed side wall to wall (there are 3 different measurements of this on Steelsoldiers) 2)Outside bed at top outside to outside 3)Bottom of bed outside to outside 4)Bed...
