Interesting Response from Vermont DECLINING my HMMWV Registration

From what I’m told, and that ain’t much, mostly the problem is side impact. You need to upgrade vehicle to specks of 2006 re.: impact. Emissions is easy to deal with. Plan B claims to get these vehicles road ready for all states. Might be good to look into how. 30 year or older trucks are...

Tires going flat left and right, can they be repaired

Someone went out of control two years ago when they blew an old bald spare tire and crossed the double line and killed an entire college golf team as well as himself and his son. Throw bad tires away.

Every windshield they ship to me arrives broken

With respect, it is just flat windshield material. Go to a junk yard, buy a large flat front windshield from a bus or truck, take it to a windshield place and have them cut it to size and install. The gasket material is available from Steel Soldiers vendors and auction sites. You must use...

You can’t fix old. You can only replace. The rubber itself irreversibly decays.

New guy in NC, M1123 needs some love

Please search others’ experiences and statements about Melton prior to purchasing anything from them (or any other vendor). I am neither endorsing or criticizing them. I’m only saying read the reviews.

From that video it’s hard to say. Could be a bad starter, bad flywheel, low charged battery.

New guy in NC, M1123 needs some love

Dump the 400. Contact Steve Kavanaugh retiredwarhorses and 86humv as resources to get the parts you need. 1998 vehicle is probably a 200 amp unit but I may be wrong. If this is only a three speed tranny then it is a 60 amp unit and needs an electric harness upgrade to convert to 200 amp...

What is the name for part number 4? The wrench tool doohickey. I need one.

    Hmmwv head question

Time for a new engine and use this one as a boat anchor. If the engine was rare or valuable you could weld and sleeve it, but in this case it is cheaper to just save the internal parts and heads and get a new engine. IMHO. YMMV.

Battery cutoff using Nato slave plug

I doubt these were designed for constant current. Even so, there are better safer properly designed and time tested options.

Battery cutoff using Nato slave plug

Is a NATO unit rated at 200+ constant Amps. I hope so or you will have one great BBQ. Don’t forget the marshmallows for s’mores. Bad idea. Use things for what they are meant for. If you want a power cutoff then buy a proper unit. They are not that expensive.
