    John Winslow sales website

I'm just glad John doesn't have my 925A2 listed for sale. It's been there long enough! LOL!

    M919 gets 16.00 ZXLs

Wow, that is a whole lotta truck!! Thanks for the eye candy! Maybe you can post a shot when she has a full load in her. I'd love to see that.

    M939 winch motor bracket

The motor bracket (P/N# 12276904) is busted on my 925A2. It is what mounts the hydraulic motor to the winch. It is aluminum so it didn't hold up really well to what ever the SeaBee guys ran over. I haven't been able to find one used yet. All of the yards I have called have one, but they are...

    1400x20s on M813

The CTIS on my 923A2 kept them at 60 psi and that did fine for the trip to Aberdeen and back at ~60 mph. They didn't get too hot and they wore evenly.

I'm sure it will look good. Tom's Super Deuce is very clean!!

Red Dot R-9777 Roof Top A/C

Now I know why you and Mike DM96 are pals! You think alike! My theory for slapping AC on my925A2 is if it is good enough for our troops in the sandbox, then it is good enough for me. We'll see how much money is left in the fund after I get it on the road. Of course it will be fall or maybe...

Thanks Jeff and Brian. I am looking forward to your reports! :)

Red Dot R-9777 Roof Top A/C

FFH, if that's what you want to spend your money on, then I say go for it. Are they available in OD or sand? I found a compressor mounting kit on the net for my M925A2. I already have the fuel burnng heater kit so I would just need the AC. It needs a lot of stuff before it needs AC though!! I...

    Steel Soldiers MVPA Convention Award

Can any of the SS members who attended the convention and assisted with the judging/presentation post up some more pics and info for the rest of us? I am dying to see some more pics of the competition. Thanks!

Fantastic! I am glad to see it went to someone who loves and appreciates it as much as Damon.

Front Brake drum on 5 ton

Good tip, John. I did that on my 818 when replacing the wheel cylinder and it works. Captain Ron, downloading the TM from the Resources section will be a big help! I live and die by the TM's on my big projects.

    Highway speed of 5ton

Me like!! That would be the ultimate camping and tailgating truck! To Jim, the original poster, please don't take all of the negative comments personal. I know you are new to SS. Most, if not all of us, have thought about doing the same thing or have done the same thing when we first got...

    Highway speed of 5ton

Best bet would be a M915A3. They are basically a militarized Freightliner. Too bad they are so expensive and WAY overkill for a 7000 race trailer!! A M931A2 or M932A2 with the 8.3L Cummins, a 5-spd Allison, and 14R20 Michelin's might get you 65 mph, but that's really pushing it. I didn't...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Yeah, that's how I did the seal on my 5.9L in my Dodge, but the TM specifically said to mount the cover loosely, use the seal driver on the crank to center the cover, torque the bolts, then, install the seal using the plastic crank cover and the seal driver. So, that's what I did. We'll see...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

As promised, here are some pics of yesterday's session and a video of the engine running. I forgot to mention that I also got a new fuel line installed for the fuel-burning heater and test-fired it yesterday too. The old one poured fuel all over the exhaust  The engine you hear running...
