My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

WW, I look forward to the day when I can take that video clip for you! Hopefully it will happen in January. We've got it cranking. It's just a matter of getting fuel to the injectors. The fuel tank has been cleaned out. I have fresh fluids and filters ready to go. One thing I want to do...

    800 Series Grilles

My 1970 XM818 had the tube-type. I am a big fan of the flat-bar-type myself. I also remember reading an article in Army Motors years ago where DD mentioned that the USMC requested the bar-type.

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Bjorn, thanks for the pic. That looks like the one we just put on. I'll be sure to open the vent. David, I think I have a line on all of the engine parts that I need. I should know soon. I have a feeling this truck was used as an equipment mover by the Seabees. They have that beefy hitch...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

Thanks Bjorn. I saved the control box for you. I thought you might want to inspect it for failures as well. The connector was corroded on there pretty good. I had to use some Kroil and a pair of Channel Locks to get it off. The sealant around the edge of the bod just crumbled and rust...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

My Dad and I drove down to Winslow's today and met my Chad for a work session. We knocked out a couple of seat swaps and a tach install on Bkubu's M109A3 and then promptly waded into the 925A2's dash gremlins. Chad was a soldering machine! We traced down the last of the gauge and switch...

New Shoes on the Unimog 404

Glad you got them to fit David. Do they rub any at full lock? I'd say you might hear some rubbing off-road with the axles crossed up. They look great though.

    Where to find 14.00R20

Hi Chris. Give Gay's Tire Service a call. They are in Moultrie, GA. They usually have good radials in stock and are nice folks to deal with. http://www.gaystireservice.com/index.php?pr=Military_Radial

Glad you got her home!! I know it looks intimidating. Trust me, nobody knows how intimidating a 939A2 truck project can look like me  I've been known to drag home the roughest looking hacks out there to make them new again. We can get through this together. :-P I can't believe nobody...

    939A2 transfer case solenoid

The little box with the lever and wheel on it actuates the air shift front axle automatically when the t-case is shifted into low range. The dash switch allows you to select the front end when in high range.

    939A2 transfer case solenoid

Jay, Here's some snippets from the TM showing the wiring for the t-case interlock solenoid. It looks like 585 goes into the switch and 586 comes out of it. Then, 586 runs under the cab to the solenoid on the t-case. You should be able to tap into the harness under the dash at one of the...
