I pulled my flatbed up on the mk18a1.My flatbed has a 62" hook height. The winch was in the way.I need to refab the hook assembly on the bed.It seems like it will work good.
It got hot at some point, the paint was blistered above the input shaft.I think the lube pump went bad,and the input shaft went out or snapped. That big transfer case only has about 6'' of oil capacity.
The mk48 is back together and running,I only took it about a half a mile up the road.It was a long day.My mechanic said dont ever call him to replace the transfer case again. It was a job.Now I get to drive it and learn her secrets.Be fore I go anywere with it I am going to go completely over it...
That was my buddies girl friend. That was incentive to get the mechanics to work faster. She cooked them lunch on the grill.I told them lunch would be served after the transfer case was set..
We pulled the transfer case today and reset the new one in.That was a big part of the job done. The mechanic noticed that the old transfer case paint was blistered above the input shaft, looks like it got real hot and fried the bearings or the lube pump went bad.there is a pic of it .
