Iv had similar issues of loosing prime. My ip may be bad bc i can pump and when i hear fuel/air bubbles gurgling in the tank, i stop and it fires right up. im assuming fuel isnt suppose to bypass something in the ip to allow fuel to return to the tank while using the primer pump.
