Anyone swap out their steering wheel?

I think the steering wheel would be a nice place to upgrade the interior. Anyone do this yet?

How many lockers to use for a 6WD M1088?

Ah, ok so I think I do understand your explanation. So is the tire that has the least traction detected and the power flows to the grippiest tire assuming it is in MODE, or is this not the case, and power flows to the tire with no traction, and thus the reason people want the Detroit style...

How many lockers to use for a 6WD M1088?

I think the some of the confusion stems in part from the use of the terms "locked" and "locker". Maybe someone could draw a simple stick diagram to help ?

Flashing Header - Dead on side of road

Can we get a Emergency / dead on the side of the road perm. section for the major sections of this site? Maybe call it BEACON or something. Would be great if the header would flash like a beacon when someone is stranded. Then our attention as members can be quickly drawn to the people that...

How many lockers to use for a 6WD M1088?

Should I assume that any axle that has a non-actuated locker is locked up all the time? If this is the case, would not scrubbing occur with that axle is engaged or not? Maybe I am wrong. I did some research on Meritor's site. It would seem that they divide their power 50/50 to the rear axles...

Air tank size- would a FMTV benefit from a much larger tank?

I was thinking about how quickly the air tanks run out of air with repeated braking. While I have never driven in ice or snow in my truck, might a larger tank allow you to pump the brakes a lot more before no air (assuming no antilock brakes) and thus be safer? Maybe I'm missing something.:)

How many lockers to use for a 6WD M1088?

Based on the suggested reading, it appears that all 4 wheels are driven "In a 6x4 truck, both axles are driven at all times. The only thing the power divider/interaxle differential lock does is lock the outputs to each axle so that they always rotate at the same speed. If a wheel slips on one...

How many lockers to use for a 6WD M1088?

So for a vehicle that is driven a lot on the highway, a locker in the rear is likely the best because the rear only locks when it is activated by operating in MODE? And there would be reduced tire wear? We need more snow videos of 5 ton trucks to look at what it does when it slips : )

How many lockers to use for a 6WD M1088?

Should I use 1 locker or 2 lockers at the rear of an m1088? If only 1, which set of wheels would you put it on?
