FWIW, I spoke to my IT person and he said no problem on setting up a Growler / M1161/3 forum.
We'll do that shortly if there's no interest on the steelsoldier's part. Presently I find it difficult
to navigate this forum for Growler information....IT is my nemesis.
Good Morning,
I have a 2nd M1161 a 2012 very clean unit but the starter solenoid was fried due to a small relay in a cluster above the brake pedal. I pulled the started and it has absolutely no markings on it. My son, through contacts, is arranging to buy one thru folks in either Paraguay or...
Finally got my M1161 to my friend's local service facility. Tracking down the oil filter
took time and will have to find one now that we know the model. They normally do large trucks.
They wondered why it was so easy to register as it's a diesel without computer control.
So, apparently, there...
A NJ story; I received the title or SF 97 last Saturday. Monday, NJMV issued a new title, plates and got insurance. It's on the
road and performing nicely. The insurance is based upon it being a collector vehicle which expects limited mileage to be attained.
The addl' cost for insurance was...
Oooops, I got a warning for sending you the ebay listing. Can't send active auction listings.
Well, it's the guy who has the transmission controller listed. I'm deep into trying to find manuals
and from them there could be cross listings for parts...depends on what manuals, if any, I can...
This is just great information. Many, many thanks. We've been trying to find the "locking pins" referred to on the warning sticker above the shift.
Did you find their location? We're absolutely stumped on where they could be!

Good Afternoon,
My rear steering is not functional. Since you said it works in 1st and reverse, I no longer get a fault indication. That was important to know!! Are you in a low or high range, 4 wheel or 2 wheel? The switch mounted next to the blank on the instrument panel is removed. It was...
Hello Dave,
My 1161 steering problem was solved when I elevated it. Steering is terrible in the "down" position. If your air system is working, raise the machine to get full steering.
FWIW, removed the rear-steer welds, but have an "error" lite flashing so can't activate the system until I...
New Guy here again, regarding extra parts; that's initially why I bought the second M1161. It had loads of extras on board i.e, trailer hitch tray(2), winch(s) and spare tire! But it wasn't started and tested. However it was a gamble and if it's in good shape, it's not for parts. I did note...
Good Afternoon Folks,
Newbie here. My M1161 arrived. Fantastic vehicle. Waiting for the SF 97. EUC's are slow but do happen. Mine came from Yermo, CA. Air systems work, tire inflation great. Engine and trans. all perfect. Canvas has to go to a shop for repairs on zippers and "windows"...
