Just go slow on the non powered side.
You have to work the dog legs out, but it all comes out.
I did have a problem with stuck key, still need to clean up the chewed up edges.
For others that are looking at seals.
The smaller seal on the shaft: 387 31 PAFZZ 5330-00-740-9697 7409697 19207 SEAL,PLAIN,ENCASED
After some digging, here is what I found:

Also, looks like Timkin...
Yes. It took a bit of doing, but she's all apart.
The other seal (smaller one) is ripped as well, so now I'm trying to locate it.
Whacha need? The winch is apart, so any pictures or parts are easy enough to photograph and send over.
Do you know the exact size if 2 were put together and their combined weight?
Also, do you have any other stuff for the wrecker (towbar, snatch blocks, wiffleboard/ hoisting bar, chains, etc.) that might be included on a pallet to help with overall freight charges?
Basically most of the BLL items.
I understand. Freight like that only makes sense to throw it on a truck/trailer that's already driving thru the town (in my case ABQ) and I could meet a person at one of the truck stops on their way.
Or, if other items are included/attached.
I got the MT654 tranny sent to me a few months back...
I thought about that. While I have a lathe and could probably cobble something together, I thought that if the ball was somewhere around 2" or 2-5/16", simply threading or welding a towing ball into/onto the tube, would be an easy task.
Anyone ever thought or did make their own spades?
Officially called "Wrecker Field Chock / Mud Leg", NSN# 2540-00-315-2306 and 3830-00-315-2306
These are hard to come by, and I was thinking perhaps I could even build it so the spade end was removable and the arm could be used as a spreader bar...
For our older vehicles, do you find gaskets still available?
I'm rebuilding the front winch and the 2 paper gaskets between the motor housing and wormgear cover need to be replaced.
I rather just buy them but if they're not available or cost 80 bucks, I'll make them myself.
Any sources for...
Yes sir.
The left one (non-powered) is leaking like a sif.
The right one holds liquid well.
How do I know? I got sprayed all over when I removed a plug thinking that the left and right were connected thru the drum or something. ;-)
Also, the main reason for teardown is to free the stuck lever...
