    Deuce Blown Michelin Fun.

Man, glad you are OK. As others have said, it could have been worse.

Stumbled across a M934a2 expandable van.

John, PM me if you want to sell the whole truck. I know where a like-new van body is.

How long for glow plugs to work?

The FIRST thing to do with ANY CUCV is to change the glow plugs whether they are working or not. Go with non-swelling glow plugs. You will thank me later. A swollen glow plug is either a PITA or a royal PITA...either way it is no fun. Swap them out.

Dolly Convertor Saga Continues completed haul

How cool is that, though, that a thread started by David came back around years after his death! I mean that in the best of ways. I was honored to carry David to his burial in my M35A3 with CARNAC...and I am heartened that the thread that he started came back years later!

Thinking of picking up a stray MUTT...

Check to see if it is a re-weld.

    5 ton reliability

Either way you go, you are going to really sap the power out of either motor with those 1600s. Guys may like the additional speed they provide on the highway, the improved performance off road, or just the looks, but they will absolutely kill your power. Given that you reside in OK, hills...

    NSN fo 5-ton/"9"-Series combat rims?

No, the A2 rims have an additional hole for the CTIS to pass through the rim.

    M35A3 Bow & Tarp Kits

Yes, you need the troop seats to install the bows. I have seen trucks with bows and a cargo cover without the seats, but the bows do not fit tightly into the stake pockets in the bed. GMA Cover Corporation sells complete kits with the bows, but you will pay retail for them. They are available...

What is the best brand of flat black paint?

I'll second the Krylon ultra flat black. It is a perfect match for fresh CARC black.

    Tires - G177 v/s Michelin XL - TRACTION

How do the Firestones wear compared to the Goodyears? I have been VERY happy with how the Goodyears wear. I have one truck with G177s that I drove over 1,000 miles and it still showed the mold seam on the front tires!

    Tires - G177 v/s Michelin XL - TRACTION

In my opinion, that would be a mistake unless you know someone who has a lot of tires available cheap. If you switch from the 20" rims, you will be buying tires that can be used commercially, which increases their value. You can find 1100X20s available surplus. I have been looking for about a...

    Bringing to Aberdeen 2011

CARNAC, not sure who made the comments (I'll call you later), but I can say that your prices are great and you are one of the nicest and easiest guys to deal with. I know I always say "OK, here's the money" after you gave me a price.

    Rapco paint at Aberdeen?

    Care to share?

    Rapco paint at Aberdeen?

Why not just order it from RAPCO? You don't pay the hazmat fees on spray cans. The only additional cost you pay is shipping. I have not seen Mark from RAPCO at the Aberdeen shows for at least five years.

Randy, what kind of shape is the 5 ton cargo cover in?

    M 151 ROPS Kit

I believe Antelope Valley Trucks in CA sells NOS ROPS kits. I bought one for my truck. The only thing that they don't have is the insulation.

jump starting cucv with a civy

Randy, you can jumpstart a 24v system if you have two 12v vehicles and two sets of jumper cables.

    Sprag substitutes?

If you find that it is NOT out of adjustment and is still not working properly, I suggest just replacing the sprag. They are fine when working. Once you replace the sprag, just follow the manual and it will give you years of reliable use.
