What did you do to your trailer today.

Just some misinformation about DOT Regs.

    What hitch for a M105A1?

The M101A2 is...., IMHO, the best trailer the military ever fielded. Of course there are pros and cons of both the M101A2/3-M1101/2. Both very practical and extremely useful. The M105’s were almost given away. Not practical at all and not very useful, unless you have a 2-1/2 or 5 ton to...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Did you use a sprayer or just roll it on? Looks good.

    1986 - 6.2 - crankshaft/balancer/pulley issues

ACDELCO still makes an exact replacement. Mine was marked made in USA.

What did you do to your trailer today.

I’ve seen your trailer in person. It was DOT compliant before the crash. Lots of BS over on the crash thread. Some definitely haven’t a clue what their talking about. Well....... You'll be seen now for sure. Rolling Christmas tree.

    1986 m1009

I recommend that you drive it for a month or so, maybe less, and then service it again. Don’t wait until it starts making noise again. The sludge might take some time to work itself out. Filters/fluid are inexpensive compared to a rebuild. Hopefully you lucked out and nothings hurt inside.

    M101a2 Breakaway brakes

Dexter and Redline also carry them. Any decent trailer shop will have them in stock. Very common as mentioned. $22 part here in OKC. Recommend replacing both at same time.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

X2 on the Line-X You definitely get what you pay for. Have the beds of all my trucks done with Line-X, except my M1008A1. Not doing that one. I even had them spray the inside of a new WeatherGuard aluminum toolbox. Great stuff and can’t beat the warranty. The only drawback is you have to...

Can anyone back up a M101?

I pride myself in my backing abilities. Do it almost every day with either a M101A2 or a ‘14 BigTex utility / ‘20 BigTex Equipment Trailer. To me, those are easy. Except for occasional days when I can’t back anything up to save my life. The only trailer I could NEVER backup was the M989A1...

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

Can anyone back up a M101?

Practice Practice Practice Very easy when you finally get the hang of it. Remember, backing a loaded M101A2/3 up an incline will probably activate the surge brakes. You will need to lockout the brakes beforehand.

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

I definitely miss the days of $200 M101A2’s. Still kicking myself for not getting more.

Preparing to possible sell my M105 trailer.

Looks to be in decent shape. Normal rust spots and dings. Around here, that would bring maybe $800-$900 tops from what I’ve seen. It will be different in NC and so on. Location is everything, along with condition. Trailer cable is about $100+ Tarp is $300 or so. Wood? Can get pricey...

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

There are a few around. All that means is when they finally do make it to auction, they will be very pricey.

    1986 m1009

Read your first post again. We were giving advice based on your statements about the whining noise while driving down the road and not sitting. You were so concerned, you even stopped by a transmission shop. Now we learn about new belts being installed and noise starting right after that...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

After Discovering that I inadvertently left hubs locked in for two days, I painted reference lines. Did not like the white or red that is commonly used. OD works for me. Not going to repaint hubs anytime soon and left them alone. It’s a working Ranch truck.....not a show piece. Now a...

    Saving a couple OH-58's

Hopefully you mean “flyable” condition. Flying means airborne. Get caught flying it, even a low hover, without the required paperwork, etc and you’ll wish you never saw it. Saw a guy do that with a Huey. Restored to flyable condition and had almost zero paperwork for work done as it was for...
