Here would be my top 3. Add a second snorkel to the air cleaner. Switch to 3" single exhaust or at least add a balance tube. These should be done together. Lastly would be a new IP. Consider it maintenance.

FYI, I used the Grimm jeeper gear ratio calculator and came up with the following. Assuming a stock truck with 4.56 gears, TH400 and 235/85R16 tires, you will be turning 2806 @55, 3061 @60 and 3316 @65 MPH. My SECM has an SM465 and 4.10 gearsets. It turns 2388 @55, 2605 @60 and 2822 @65 MPH...

Surplus threaded metal donkey dongs are the expandable type. The threaded ones are aftermarket and block the vent hole. New mfr replacement rubber would be nice to have. It needs to be quite soft to seal against the 2" threads in either the steel or Scepter cans.

I can't offer any definitive information on the actual MBU but from my experience at the GA Rally, if you use them inside, have hearing protection. You can hear them from a hundred yards away.

Not defending the driver here but anyone who thinks you can just steer out of the ruts he made with NDTs, is strongly fooling themselves. No matter how bad you want to, it will not happen without an outside source of force or completely backing out and starting over.

I always wanted one of the Bogert jacks for my SECM. Odds are, I would never use it but it's so neat.

If you want to remain low buck, try this. The air cleaner housing was mentioned. If you add a second snorkel, it will really open that up. If 3" exhaust isn't in the budget, add a balance tube between both sides. It really makes a difference. Also consider a reman IP. I know it's a few bucks...

CSMDAVIS might have surplus rear axles with NoSpins. They do show up from time to time.

USMC used Detroit NoSpins in the back of some of their 809 series trucks. I don't know if tractors were one of them.

Correct, the ration heater bag plugs right into it.

I agree, trailer brakes are largely over rated.....until that family of 6 turns into your path. At that point it's trailer brakes or funeral expenses.

I have a very old one I use in the CUCV. It's more of a speedo like you say but the data comes in handy too. When I was going back and forth between FL and GA with the CUCV, I regularly wrote my mileage at fuel ups on the windshield with a sharpie. Nice place to keep notes. Also, great idea...
