I would replace both seals at the inner bearings. Nothing like going through all that work and then leaking differential oil all over the new brakes. Cheap insurance I say. You can buy new axle gaskets fairly cheap too.
Depends on the year. If it is an '80s vintage you will need to pull the axle and remove the bearing retainer nut and it should pull off the spindle/housing.
In 1998 I purchased a '68 Shelby out of Ga. and it came to me on "Bill of Sale" only. That caused me some headaches at my Utah DMV when they required a title. Had to get a copy of the Ga. law to get them to accept the Bill of Sale" to license and title the car. So I feel for you guys, sure a...
I don't have CTIS, but the more I read or hear about it, the less I would want the system in anything. I see where a majority of guys simply disable the system altogether. I have an air hose that hooks to a glad hand, works fine and is reliable.
I'm thinking about putting a 12 volt stand alone charging system and battery in my M923 to power standard automotive things. Has anyone ever done this? I don't see where it would be very hard to do. The toughest part would be mounting the alternator on the engine somewhere. The wiring, gauge...
Yay, removed my soft top today and installed the hard top. That's a little bit of work but worth I think. I had a guy offer me $100 more than I paid for it but said no, I prefer the hard top. Here's is a couple of pics.
New this fall on a station near you, "Snail Races". Watch in awe and anticipation as these professional athletes show their amazing feats of speed, or not.
I can't say on gauges, but there is an older Chev K2500 running around car shows here that has a 5.9 Cummins and fully custom built dash and instruments. It's a nice truck but you always get a Dodge or Chev guy that whines about it. I figure to each his own and this guy did a **** of a job. He...
Pure gasoline is available out there if you do google searches. I have 2 fuel stops in my area that sell ethanol free gas. It usually costs .15 to .25 cents more per gallon but having no ethanol is worth it. I run this in old show cars that were never designed for ethanol blends and they run...
Thanks for any advice. I am signed up on GL and have purchased from there before, Generators, tools, cars, just can't catch a break on the trucks. The cost of having one I can work with as I am able to take care of all my own repairs and service. I do know how GL works but have never done any...
Where ever they go the shipping shuts me out. They should save the money on shipping and run them through the local DRMO on GL. But no one ever said the government were smart money people. Rarely some trucks will come through local but tend to go high compared to places like Fort Riley or...
I'm not sure if this is the right forum to put this in or not. But here goes anyway. What warrants an EUC? This confuses me as I see M35s need them but not the bigger M939 series trucks, as I see them it seems very haphazard in their application. I see the same thing on the HEMTT rear units...
