Wow! I did get a note from a guy at Fort Hood who said their motor pool had purposely kept some of their humvees in limp mode per a directive to keep the grunts from going over 30 MPH on base and wrecking shit. Thank you for the help.
I tore off the old tape and there was no tag on that fat wire bundled with the 57T and 599C. The tags may have been cut off as the fat wire looks short. Are you fairly certain I can connect this fat wire to the posi on the rear battery?
The fuse? Do you mean the wiring from the power and negative poles near the batteries?? I've only seen fuses in M1123's, and up to 1167's. This is an 1097 that was upgraded from a 3 speed to a 4 speed.

I am just a basic kinda dude trying to make it in the complicated world of Humvees. I go to the TM's and most of the time I can understand and follow them with only 5 to 10 hours of re-reading and looking at photos. I am a hands on person who has always learned by doing things, not reading...
All of my blinker stopped working all at once today. Light works on indicator lever (lights up, but does not blink), but none of the lights outside work. Replaced indicator lever and it's still not working. Using mil spec bulbs all the way around. 1996 M1097 HMMWV.
