I think he is wanting two isolated ground alternators used in a serpentine system to support a 12/24 electrical system like a stock CUCV. Unless you changed things, you have two alternators on the same circuit charging both batteries in a 12 volt system.
I think the parts inside are different. DB2829 is how all 6.2 pump numbers start and the 29 is supposed to mean .29" plungers. DB2831 is how all 6.5 part numbers start. .31" plungers.
The pump on the last engine I picked up from you codes out as off a 1998 6.5 HMMWV. The pump on the Cowdog...
The one in Clovis is on the west end of town on the main drag. Cannon has its own collection of gate guards at the overpass headed onto base.
Here re is the one in Midland from June on 2013 when I took this picture.
The CAF had one sitting outside a hanger in Midland 4 years ago. Tires low and looking neglected. There is another outside the base in Clovis, NM. If eastbound through town it looks pretty awesome because the road turns and you head right toward it for a while. Pretty big plane.
The truck is up to 1,800 miles now. Colton did 425 miles in a day last week taking a girl hiking at a park some distance away. 18.7 mpg for that tank. He drives harder than I do though.
95° seems to be the outside temperature line. Below that and I can run with the cruise at 75 on any terrain...
Here is a thread from a few years ago with the same basic information and a few pictures
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?143059-Would-someone-mind-taking-some-pictures-of-their-A-C-brackets-for-me
The brackets work great. Just be sure and use the proper size metric fasteners...
It isn't so bad from the inside. I drilled and tapped the frame to take a Jerry Can mount. Added tabs with tapped holes in them to bolt a HiLift on as well. Rigged up the spring loaded pin lock and holes for it. Then I drove with it for a week.
No rattles, no visibility issues and it works...
Best answer is a maybe. Mainly due to tolerance variations when the truck was built and how the parts have worn over the years.
You will find people that put 35's on a stock truck and it works. Others can trim a little off the cab side of the fenders and all is well. I had to add an ORD zero...
I have one that sat for years and smoked like crazy when we got it running again. It continued to blow blue/white smoke on start up out both sides the first start of the day for about 3 years. Never really used much oil, never used coolant and would go away quicker and quicker the more we...
I totally agree with all the post above about "new" not meaning it is good today. However, to try and help you get running now. Start with the basics.
Does the pink wire when removed and put back on the top of the IP with the key on give you a click noise that you can feel if your hand is on...
ShootER,
We must have been there together. I was an SMP/PFC '88-'89. I missed out on the Idaho drill due to my Reserve paper work from A&M not getting there in time. That really bummed me out.
I cant believe Lt Smith made General. He was so soft spoken and laid back as a squadron leader...
Just for clarification. After you smelled smoke, you pulled the keys and only then did the starter start to run without you telling it to? When did the starter stop?
Have you done the Doghead relay mod?
I asked all of that because I think you have two or more separate issues. Drivers side...
I had a set on a M101A2 until just a few weeks ago. No plate. Brake cables did come real close. I actually was able to move them inboard just a bit to clear. They will work.
However, a M101 with stock tires pulls empty like it isn't even there. Put the bias HMMWV tires on there and it feels...
1/124 Alpha troop. Armored Cav out of Waco.
Oldag89 was in the same unit with me. We just didn't know each other then and have since met here on this website and at the Texas Rally's.
After driving back and forth all week to work. I really like the 4L80E/Compushift combination. I have never driven a stock 4l80E in any vehicle. So maybe they all work so well. Nice smooth shifts right when my mind without looking at any gauges says shift. It shifts. Same goes for down shifts...
Taking a factory hvac system from a civilian truck and putting it on a CUCV can be done. However, the firewall will have to be cut, wiring bus bars moved and maybe move the rear battery tray. Then you have to mount the compressor. Cost and work wise it could add up to more than one of the kits...
I am pretty sure the controller needs a constant 12 volt supply as well to keep its settings.
The computer will also need a throttle position sensor signal to know when to shift gears.
A 4L80E has 2 solenoids that control the 4 gears. Another solenoid controls the torque converter clutch lock...
