    M211 pricing

After 4 months of waiting my old crusty lady is home. I had John and Jay from "J&J Recycling" in Tucson bring it down for me. I won't bother posting every little detail, just the basics. It does run and drive but has manual brakes right now and on the front axle only. I need to tear into the...

    7.3L international in a deuce?

Dave, you are obviously very knowlegeable in all things mechanical, and I appreciate the info you have given me through PM's, I think the best thing we can do when somebody makes a post that we disagree with, is ignore it. Whether it's about factual information or just somebody's personal...

    M211 pricing

Truck is scheduled for delivery on Saturday. Been setback after setback. It's time for her to come home, I am giddy as a schoolgirl!! :jumpin: I found an ORIGINAL soft top for $240 shipped. That includes a reproduction cab rear and tie down ropes. Going to get it next week.

    7.3L international in a deuce?

You know, it would be interesting to find out just how much power the driveline on the G749 series can handle before things start coming apart. The most powerful conversion I have seen was a 502 Chevy BB. In fact, I was talking with the guy who put the 502 in his M135 and I have seen many other...

    The unofficial g749 picture thread

I recognize that truck! It's on Ebay. It's a heck of a looker for sure!

    M211/135 Wheel cylinder Rebuild

It was a no go. The place I was in contact with said they didn't know why their site showed such a large inventory of G749 wheel cylinders and other G749 parts. In fact, they pointed me in the direction of who did buy up all of the G749 NOS parts. Which were places like Memphis, Niagara and...

Post a picture of your G749 series truck! Running or not. Here's mine

Saw and touched my first deuce today!

Wow! This is a very old thread. Guess I should give everyone an update then. The Army decided because I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot that joining would make me a danger to others. As long as I have my shoe inserts I can do everything just as good as any other person, unfortunately I...

    7.3L international in a deuce?

I do see your point. There is obviously room for lots of improvement MPG wise. Why must all things that we men enjoy be so expensive? I would offroad more in mine but you just end up using A LOT of gas in a vehicle of this class. Lots of revving while barely gaining any distance, the soft...

    7.3L international in a deuce?

If you mean the 302, it puts out a max of about 135hp. The best MPG figures I have seen have been around 9 or 10 city miles per gallon. Realistically though, most probably get less than 8.

    older deuce

Can I make a few suggestions? Are you in need of the full asking price all at once or would you accept payments? If you could find someone that's within a state of you that's intersted but can't come up with the full asking price, let him know you will take incremental payments. While it will...

    7.3L international in a deuce?

And two M135's at that! :-D I found this after some searching. Might want to try contacting MajorTom for more info. View topic - Manual Trans early deuce...? :: Steel Soldiers :: Military Vehicles Supersite

    7.3L international in a deuce?

Yes, the truck in question is a M211. It was given to him for free too. Lucky dog. Dave, whatever you end up doing I am sure it will a good conversion. DO take lots of pictures, many are watching. :D

    7.3L international in a deuce?

Based on your replies I'd say it sounds to me like you already have your mind made up, Dave. ;) Honestly, if MPG is that much of a concern don't you think a slightly smaller Military Vehicle or other big truck would be better suited to meet your needs/wants? You may be trying to make a silk...

    Big Block 211

Sounds like a great setup!! In fact, one of the common conversions back in the day of cheap 211's was to drop in a complete drivetrain from the old (not so old then) CCKW's. The 2 speed transfer cases also insured you retained a low range. How easy was it setting up the hydravac on your 211...

    Big Block 211

You do significantly better mileage with the 455 than the 302. LOTS of power and it doesn't need to be worked nearly as hard as the 302 to get the big girl moving. Member 69Olds here has his M211 powered by an early 68 455 Rocket with J heads, th400, stock Rochester Qjet and an Edelbrock...

    Big Block 211

I should be getting my truck very soon. He just needs to plop the battery back in and get the bolts for the bed back in place. I already have a shipper lined up and am hoping to have it home on the 25th or 26th. I am trying to be patient! My truck is in running condition but without power...

    M 211 Brakes

This is not the first time I have heard of how well these can stop. I was talking with a member here on the phone a few months ago and he recalled having stomping on the brakes once at 50mph with his dog in the passenger seat. His dog hit the dash (unharmed) and he just about knocked himself out...
