I like my trucks as original as possible.
That includes the radiator.
Of course the aluminum/plastic radiators do the job.
Maybe not as efficient, but good enough. So I’ve read.
Plenty of suscess stories
I simply like the brass/copper radiator that the truck was designed with.
Zero...
They still make the copper/brass for these.
Identical to original
Installed mine last year and zero install issues
It’s been flawless ever since.
Pricey....., but you get what you pay for.
Check classifieds and then check eBay.
Data plates are readily available.
Several different decals that have been reproduced are available also.
Haven’t seen that particular one for sale but I’m sure someone has it.
Recommend posting in the parts wanted section.
You would be amazed on...
That turned out really nice.
Perfect location and looks good.
Paint it OD to match and most will never notice new plug.
Yea
I initially thought and assumed the stock CUCV trailer plug was 24v.
Quickly Learned otherwise.
I raised the rear attachment points by 2”, using aluminum spacers.
Wife had the same complaint.
Now seat is a much more comfortable angle.
Unless you have a tilt steering wheel installed, also raising the front will put your thighs almost into bottom of steering wheel.
Replaced Gates thermostat on the M1008A1
First one failed after less than a year.
Opening up at <160* instead of 190*.
New one working correctly.
Both were made in China.....ugh!
At least it’s easy to change.
Just replaced both thermostats in my duramax two weeks ago.
I’m on a roll.......
If you need factory surge assembly parts
www.crofttrailer.com
The surge shock is usually the most expensive part to replace and Croft Trailer has the best price anywhere and their customer service is excellent.
Dexter Axle and Redline will have the drums/brake shoes/wheel cylinders.

No adjustments
Just push or pull on the hitch ring until it does.
Sounds like your shock is good and you need to overcome its pressure to line up holes.
Using a heavy Phillips screwdriver on one side for alignment while inserting pin on other should work. If the Phillips is able to go into...
Agree that sitting like that probably caused the problems.
If you don’t exercise and heat up the seals, they tend to shrink and get stiff.
Happens everyday, from custom car folks to MV folks.
Don't drive enough or rarely at all and it will go to pot on you.
Seals, fuel systems, etc.

It is by far much easier and cheaper to simply get a new GP controller card.
Contact SS member AntennaClimber
He makes and sells new production cards.
Very well made.
That is for transport only.
NOT dumping.
Allows for more trailers on a rail car.
You break one of those castings and you will be SOL.
Will have to find someone parting out one or have to buy a new trailer.
That part is rare in surplus form.
Sure guys dump with them, but they are not...
The silicone around the cap isn’t normal.
Probably trying to keep water out is a guess.
Once tight they stay put. So it’s not to keep it from backing off.
NOS caps with new orings are available in the classifieds or eBay.
It’s very common for any surplus item to have all the fluids drained.
It seems to be one of those.
You're lucky that it’s not all rusted like you mentioned.
I would fill it with DOT5, which is what was used, and call it good unless you see a wheel cylinder leaking.
Factory parts for the...
Lost the front gate locking pin.
Had the gate doors open and locked back for a while.
Picked up some items and went to lock the top latch and the locking pin was gone.
The gates were NOS when I installed them last year.
I guess the dimple wasn’t large enough to hold it it.
Have used them...
Totally agree
I have a duramax now. Leather...blah, blah, etc.
It’s nice and powerful
Yet I always chose to drive my M1008A1 unless I have a specific reason to drive the newer truck.
I absolutely love it.
