    Fuel Leak In the Valley

Those are some good pictures. Looks a little nasty / crusty around the servo-advance piston. (lower components of pump) It's a place that can leak. Outputs looks dry ? with some corrosion on some of the fittings. (cylinder feeds 2,5,6,7,8 ) But not wet. Could get up in there with crows...

    Under the HMMWV Hood

There's a lot going on under the hood of a HMMWV. Sure the trucks are a ruff and tuff rig, with simple features. We all get that the pistons go up and down and the wheels go round and round... BUT take a look at the BIG job that is going on with the injector pump. If your into details on...

    Random switches and buttons

A lot of them were for convoy lights. If aux fuel tank, I need one. CAMO

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

It's the sender and your stuck with it. There is no calibration that I am aware of... like you could bend the float arm to get he gauge to track with the volume of fuel. Kinda sucks too. 🍋 I like mine when topped off to be above the full "F" line. Now it a tad bit below. When on "E" I...

Questions about the Electronic Speedometer and Voltage Regulator

What make you think the speedo is linear or to track in its calibration? Could be out of wack, balance, rusted, busted on the inside. Military low bid? Took one apart as kid and never did figure it out. CAMO 🤔

Gearing up my M998 for Alaska

Don't know what they use for fuel up there... But you might check that or carry some cold weather additive. Fuel gels and your really stuck, CAMO

How many amps do the glow plugs pull at full load?

Doctor... 😷 Hmmwv not all grease, nuts and bolts. A couple of variables at work here. Electrical Resistance and Voltage a thing called OHMS LAW♎. So we know a good glow plug has a resistance in the range of 1.5 to 5 Ohms. Age, temperature, design, etc. Let's pick 3 ohms as the average. OK,👌...

Axle broken? M998 front wheels not turning in shallow snow

BTM does work. " My experience" and something to get out of one's head.... they're not a tank. It's real easy to get in DEEP with that marcho green machine thing. It's not an action by just mashing the brake pedal and go. Sure that's the idea... but there's a lot feedback in the "seat of...

    Random switches and buttons

The one in the back is a circuit breaker. Don't recognize the thingy up front. Sure coming up with some wack electrics, CAMO

    Authentic Side Mirrors

They look right... but the over spray and painted housings is hiding something. Molded black or green hard plastic for the mirror housing. I see something fishy... CAMO

    92' M998 Horn problem

Well... Ya didn't tell us that. 😬 Get ready for the "study the TM's" in your spare time. 📖 It's all in the owner's manual, CAMO

    92' M998 Horn problem

You got the lighting switch on SERVICE. Needs to be. Next... Check to see if you have one up front and two wires going to it. Next... pull the clip ring off from around the rubber button and check / clean up wiring any rust junk. Make sure not to loose the center wire down the rabbit hole...

'86 M998 Humvee issue with headlights and turnsignals

Later model lamp buckets used LED's in the BO / Stop locations. Personally, I like the old school incandescent bulbs. Moving at the speed of light, CAMO

Questions about the Electronic Speedometer and Voltage Regulator

If you kept the back wheels on the ground, maybe you could get an accurate read. ;) Now out of shoot three the "Tan Hmmwv" CAMO

Humvee antenna that fits the as 3900 base ?

It's good to experiment... Been there done that. Those antennas are poor performers like 7 to 10 dB down at 30 mHz. A little better at the high end of 88 mHz BUT still less that unity. The 25 to 29 mHz range covers CB and the 10 meter amatuer band. Broadband antennas at these frequencies...

Humvee antenna that fits the as 3900 base ?

Does it have to be the real deal? Most if not all of the so called military antenna are not going to work well with civilian radio products like AM-FM broadcast radios or CB / Ham set-up. Lot of reasons why and not enough time to explain... but clearly over priced unless one has to have the...

    Speedometer Flutter

That's the one. May need to be lubed up or a kinked up cable or stripped gear set or my final guess a bad speedo. That's an super clean truck, Maybe work better if it was a bit more dirty, CAMO
