Not so sure that's a good spot to connect to. Issue at hand is that lamp lead (#40 x) has a "bright - dim - off" resistor in the lighting switch. Its resistance was selected to do the bright - dim based on a couple of panel incandescent bulbs used in the day. Later (hummwv) with LED in the...
Not so sure to LOL or cry. Owner stated it's been always on. Owner, operator, driver should have understood brake light... next level maintenance.
First testing post stated it stayed on when both switches removed from circuit. Then came, brake light pedal switch, the grounded out leads or...
"now she seems to be displaying as should with e-brake light on when plugged in and off when unplugged"
IF that's the case... FAILED proportional brake valve switch OR brake system fail.
Check fluid in reservoir. Low fluid could be a clue (front or rear sections) Find the little button...
I ran into the same hobby experience...
IMO, There is a lot of interaction to get a Hummwv dialed-in on a wheel alignment. (tweeking and elbow action not being a straight axle rig)
Military specifications were for daily heavy load carrying and tires are cheap replacement items. (bullets...
Other diesel truck forums point to / have measured more particulates passing thru those K&N filters. Thought about one. Looked at the surface area of the stock one. Compared it to the civy / CUCV 6.2 filter (trucks owned) and figured for the $$, stock should last a long time for hobby use and...
Not the "sole" purpose, but important when going for a swim. More importantly IMO... It is also tied to the kick down solenoid on the TH400 transmissions. Probably fines more use there when passing. Still disengages fan for that added extra 20 seconds of boost.
Just saying: As with...
Heavy tires, won't fit machine ? Try old school bubble balancer. That's the one sitting in the back shop not being used. Grab it up and some weights.
Old truck, old machine, CAMO
Once you peel back the radiator stack, you have to ask your self... Do I feel lucky? Not having any history and mileage may not count to " What's next to go out?"
Having the "stack" out of the way opens up a window to many of the hard to get at parts. You are right ! This would be the time to...
Would be best to study up the TM 9-2320-280-20 wire drawing. Find the brake warning lamp assembly at the top and follow it thru. Wire #67 is the clue.
I give UP...poetry. Going to shovel snow in the desert.

Nobody said anything about turn signals, brake lights, park lamps.
It's this one right??. >
As I stated... There is a circuit in the PCB that "winks" the warning dash mounted lamp to test it. It is just to the left of the steering wheel and shown above. Operator switches the ignition (but...
When I reversed engineered the PCB for my manual control box, there is a connection at " pin C" / body harness / PCB. This is for the "brake lamp test". It should be an "open" with a brief pulse going low (ground) to flash the brake lamp (led) when switched to RUN. This could be ?? your issue...
Also, If you or a mechanic are to remove it or replace... BE SURE to watch for any spacer /s (due to lost or missing) between the lower alternator mounting flanges. If there is a gap between front and rear flanges when seated in place on the engine mounting posistion, there's a good chance...
I am not big on a "mechanic in a can" fixes. What it could be or might be presents too many variables to second guessing problems. Easy answers off the interweb is just that easy. It's a hit or miss. Sure it's fun to play HUMMWV doctor, noting there is a lot of knowldge right here in the SS...
That's a good idea. How about a switch called "accessories" maybe with a light on it. Turn on the extra stuff when you need it. Like the head light switch... have to remember to turn it off.
Many bright ideas, CAMO
At the STOP RUN START switch it would be the 458 # lead. (wire tag stamped 458 supplying 28 volts in the RUN position.
FUSE IT for your low current needs to your camera or slave relay. I wouldn't draw more than 2 or 3 amps MAX.
If your pop-in wires off & on, pay attention or that will be a...
If the oil pressure gauge is to be believed... That would be a big concern for me.
Oil pressure can be all over the place for all kinds of reasons on 6.2L trucks. TM minimum would be 10 psi and hard to get a good read on those gauges. A tight engine average 40 to 60 psi hot, higher side...
