Same as any kind of anxiety for me: do something else. Usually when I hit a waiting wall on one hobby, I use that as an opportunity to side-step over to another hobby of mine. Mostly that just has me shifting back and forth from HMMWV to amateur radio.

Picked up TM-9-2815-237-34P (6.2/6.5L Parts Manual), skipped to the fuel section, found the most rod-like part on the fuel pump section, then started plugging the part number into different websites. HummerPartsGuy also has it for $10 more, and eBay...
...an alternator on the trailer? Like, to turn the alternator off the rotation of the axle to generate power? It's all going to add up to drag on the vehicle's engine, so I think it'd be better to just keep it simple and run an appropriately-rated cable to the trailer for power. You can then...
I realize this is a very optimistic request, but with the practical benefit it might serve me in the future, it seemed worth asking...
I haven't divulged too much into the design of a CTCSS circuit, but I'm curious as to what it takes to actually add CTCSS into a radio...or in the case of...
Wow, that's really something. I'm pretty sure you're in the wrong forum section, but I'll try and offer you what I know anyway. First off, yes, you're wanting a slip ring assembly. I don't think there is any reason you have to actually use a former military slip ting. Honestly, you'll...
Thanks for the enlightenment on the other system. There's some components of it I might want to expand with later, but right now, that Babington unit seems really neat with the burner they use on all of their appliances. It's also very convenient for me that it's nicely on rails to tie down...
If you're unfamiliar and need a primer, check out the manufacturer's page...they have an absolutely excellent write-up: http://www.babingtontechnology.com/products/tray-ration-heater.html#.WcVEyxGpW70
I saw this the other day and was really intrigued by it. I like the idea of being able to run...
You're right... http://miscpartsmanuals2.tpub.com/TM-9-2320-387-24P/TM-9-2320-387-24P0860.htm I don't trust it, but there it is. I feel like I need to call an engineer...
I wonder if that style is actually in the supply chain, or if GP saw that this truck had potential to sell high and decided that it needed some new headlights to help sell it even higher?
I am thankful for this. It is making some parts harder to find/more expensive, though.
Nice HMMWV...
That sounds risky. I haven't looked this up to verify it myself, but having a below-water vent line opening sounds like this is a recipe for disaster...are you positive that it doesn't T into another line?
Also I had my CDR off when I replaced several gaskets on the top of my engine and made...
Haven't even driven mine yet except for about 30 ft in reverse, so no, not yet. (I still have wiring work to finish on my transmission...I installed a 4L80E right off the bat when I got my HMMWV in January and have been taking my time to do everything right.) I do have the full tool set with...
Y'know, I had considered eventually building a clunky PTZ system with remote triggers for model rockets. Would make for an extremely cool look-alike for an avenger system one day. I think I could scare off a few neighbors and maybe draw in a few feds if I ever roll up to some gathering with an...
Good on you... I just did the same, but I took the time to screen capture pretty pictures and everything, so I'm going to put them here anyway in case some other guy goes searching for them. The attached images are for the NP242 T-Case. The NP218 T-Case has the same type of assembly, but I...
I don't know exactly where that is used, but it's clearly a detent spring/plunger assembly. Likely has to do with the shift mechanism. I'll revisit this post if I figure out exactly where that assembly goes.
Just came across a high quality picture of an FFCS/D on eBay...here's what was printed on the connector for the PTT cable:

You'll have to tell us how bad they tore it up...what was the mentality they had for clipping the hood? I don't think I ever saw the episode. I only saw their LMTV one.
Is your's missing or just damaged? If you still have a legible part number available, I know a guy that does nothing but connectors and has pretty much everything. He hooked me up with a 14 pin PT06 connector I needed for my PRC-138 and it only cost me all of about $16 delivered, brand new...
