True. The research I did prior to purchase and waiting till the right one came along...... played heavily into my purchase. Even still my truck has it's share of issues that I'm still working out.
I love the guys that want the 3116 trucks because they are "mechanical!" - entirely overlooking...
On my truck the front air tank had nothing connected to the center port at the back of the tank - just a 1/2 NPT brass allen plug. I plumbed my air horn solenoid to this port to avoid unnecessary changes to the air system and unwanted consequences. It's also plumbed with 3/8 OD tubing so the...
FYI:
MMDC = Medallion Marine Data Concentrator.
Medallion is the manufacturer. The "MDC" product line was developed in partnership with Malibu ski boats. It was further developed for military applications where it needs to perform in similar wet environments.
I would monitor the supply voltage to the MMDC using both power and ground from it's harness for my gauge. If that looks normal I would scope the power (+7v) and data lines to the instruments and see what I could discern from that.
The gauges you note are "blinking out" have no connections...
My truck has about 7,000 miles on it now. The trans definitely has 15w40 in it. I just pulled a sample a few days ago - on the dip stick it looks nearly new. In the sample bottle it's a little darker than new oil would be. Very clean though.
I put one of these on each sun visor. They are bright AF, and have both red and white LED's. CHEAP and won't drain the truck batt if you leave it on:

Bonus - you can pull one and clip it to your hat if you need a work light.
FWIW - the military does not switch them over - the newest trucks do run ATF (A1P2's, etc) - but older trucks still in inventory that came with 15w40 still get serviced with 15w40. If they go in for the A1P2 overhaul they come back with ATF.
I can confirm that the A1R coil overs ride pretty decent. The suspension seats help. Honestly don't miss the air ride cab or it's considerable maintenance cost and complexity.
I intend to at some point figure out the exact part number for the metal rod clips from the Auveco catalog......

But I bought an assortment that Dorman sells and if you compress the rod retainers a bit with pliers to grip the rod size...
Have you talked to the yard to find out how long it can sit there awaiting your arrival? They may be receptive to the argument that you didn't expect the EUC to go through in a day and could you come get it in a few weeks or a month? Enough time to arrange time off, etc.
I totally understand -...
My truck was 2700 miles away. Start a post and ask if someone near the truck can do a cursory inspection - throw in some batteries, etc. We have a pretty good community here.
I mean - if you are willing to pay $6k+ to have it transported.... you have seen the price of diesel right? A rig that...
Contact Justin Whering in the Houston area. He can get anything registered in TX. He has contacts in the DMV. Look for some of his old posts - they always contain his phone number. His user name is "whering". Amazing guy I'm sure he can help.

Cheaper to drive it with the price of fuel and transport. I'm sure it's up to $5 a mile now if not more (pre-covid and fuel prices it was about $4 a mile). Go PREPARED and drive it home. There's a large network of owners and people that know these trucks that you can rely on. Start a post asking...
If you have issues with registration - there's always Utah. SF97 is one of their options and I'm sure they can work with either one.

They got me sorted out and I can't say enough good things about their customer service and attention to detail.
