    Modified lunette on M105a3 trailer

Since all that was done almost 9 years ago, would be interesting to see if it worked. Looks comical to me. Definitely to big and heavy a trailer for a 4Runner.

Good score on the jack and lights. Looks good!

    CUCV M1010 Newbie here

Read and study the TMs, stickies and all the old threads. Almost every question/problem/issue has already been experienced and discussed in the old threads. You will find answers to questions you haven’t even thought of yet. Agree with going through truck before any long trips. Most guys...

I’m very calm. Never Doughted you for a second. Always come through with the parts needed.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Pretty sure you can get new strikers from Rock Auto for under 10$ a piece. My dad put new ones on his 1008 I can find non-GM all day long. Do not want Dorman brand or other China brands. Only want GM strikers.

    Idle Vibration Normal?

When I installed new Delphi injectors, the noise quieted down, especially at highway speed, and it also smoothed out the vibration a lot also. Its a Diesel so it will always have vibration, but the new injectors made a huge difference.

    Glove box hinge fix

Kinda extreme but to each his own. Would possibly look better painted OD The hinge is an easy fix. Mine was almost in two and I drilled multiple small holes on both sides of split. Then used .025 aircraft safety wire and basically sewed the almost two pieces together. Very strong and glove...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Fiberglass replacements are the only way to go. Lighter than wood and will never rot. Never needs painting. I also did the front gate modification and it’s been a very handy thing to have. Worked out great for the hay loading.

LOL it’s in the trailer in the background. Only have one and need two!

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

After unloading supplies today, had time to actually wash bed out. All the hay, dirt, lumber bits, etc. Have been meaning to do this for months, but something always comes up. Nice and clean now.....until tomorrow when I break out the chainsaw again and load up more campfire firewood.

    Idle Vibration Normal?

ACDELCO still makes the Harmonic Balancer for the 6.2L. Mine arrived and was identical to original and made in USA.

    Wellman Glow Plug Question

Have fun with them. Sure, they’ll work just fine, but their nickname is “Swellmans” for a reason. The tips on those have a nasty habit of swelling, making removal a nightmare. The ACDelco AC60Gs are self limiting and do not swell. That’s the reason most guys have them installed.

    Dash Pad Replacement

The poor bezel fit on the USA1 was my biggest complaint. Along with fit and color coming off when lightly scuffed. I would gladly pay the higher cost and wait time for a proper dash. More for the ease of getting in and out of dash for repairs to cluster, etc. Now I dread the day when I...

AcDelco Replacement Lock Cylinders, General Anti-Theft Tips

Every area will be different. This style truck is extremely popular now. Prices on civilian models are going way up and the CUCV prices at auction are also. I would be more worried about it being taken for parts. Sometimes using the chain and lock seems silly, but it only takes <30 seconds...

AcDelco Replacement Lock Cylinders, General Anti-Theft Tips

Yes You can easily incorporate a kill switch in a CUCV. It’s been covered well before so do a search and all the details will be available. Hardest part is to locate the switch in a uncommon hiding area. Some guys get really creative. Crooks will usually not take the time to figure out...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The busted needle wouldn’t come off the original on mine and I had to get a replacement from eBay. Couldn’t find one locally and the GM replacement was in excellent condition. Have a pic of original mileage and quick simple math will give me current true mileage. Just passed the 100k mark...

    Dash Pad Replacement

I have a USA1 pad and it’s ok. Wasn't that impressed with fit and finish and their customer service is awful. There is a thread about it. If you still have your original GM dash pad, there is a company in California that will refinish it back to OEM condition. They do a lot of hot rod...

AcDelco Replacement Lock Cylinders, General Anti-Theft Tips

The civilian ACDELCO locks are not keyed alike. Only the Army required them all to match for obvious reasons. I use the Military theft prevention system......aka chain and lock. Simple and it works. I have a small mud flap under seat that the chain sits on top of when not in use. Prevents...
