$1.58 tubing finally fixed my doors. No more slamming.

That’s what the video recommended and showed. No reason to remove striker for install unless personal preference.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

You just kinda have to play with the adjustment. Adjusting the striker inward (to a point) will allow the door to close tighter and with new seals should help with the water issue. The hinge bushings have already been discussed and will help also. Doors were swapped in CUCVs a lot when in...

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

I’ve had a few people drive up and ask if I wanted to sell mine and then where to get them. Mostly Jeep guys Now I can tell them don’t bother to look at GP auctions since their all gone basically. Some really great builds and great ideas are on that site and SS. That’s why I wanted...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

1987 M1008A1 rolled past 100,000 miles today on way to breakfast. Did it while towing a M101A2 Trucks Running better than ever.

Oklahoma Bill Introduced to Create Titling for HUMVEES

Turner Turnpike is the Autobahn of Oklahoma. As mentioned, 85-90+ is the norm. OHP patrols it as vigorously as their budget allows, but seems to have little effect once the trooper is passed and out of sight. Local/county LE usually stay clear from it. Air patrols have suffered from budget...

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

AntennaClimber did a fantastic build with a M101A2 for the convoy last year. Best one I’ve seen IMHO. Plenty of others, including the above, that also did awesome builds. All it takes is time and $$$ Plus space, ingenuity, skill, dedication....... I’m definitely building one...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I was waiting for someone to mention that. It’s old damage and door was fixed not long after getting truck. They were horrible. Passenger side was the worst and that’s the pic your referring to. Need new strikers but can’t find undamaged GM ones. Do not want the cheap non-GM ones. If you...

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

GL charged me Diesel tax on both trailers. Took weeks to get it refunded. Initially, they couldn’t understand why I was complaining. Yea. Wished I would have bought several more. Oh well.......hindsight is 20/20

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

Luckily I have one for ranch work and my other is for a future camper build. Had 2.1 tons of gravel in my tan M101A2 Monday. Handled it no sweat. Axle bumpers were about 1 1/2” from frame rail. Forgot to take a pic. Fantastic trailers.

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

I personally think they are the best Military trailer ever. Love the camper builds.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Did the PEX plastic sleeve bushing on the door striker trick as mention in another thread. No more slamming doors. Cheap, easy and worked perfect.

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

The two that I have came from same place and time period. $200 each. Two different auctions. No damage, except for a busted light and trailer cable. Usual surface rust but no rot. One had tons of goodies, including a brand new camo cover. Kicking myself for not getting more. Thought two...

$1.58 tubing finally fixed my doors. No more slamming.

Saw the post and was also having almost same issue. Always worse when windows rolled up because of air pressure inside. Already had PEX on hand in red and blue. Used Red. Took less than 10 minutes Problem solved. It will never close like a Cadillac, but it’s 100% better. Worthy of a...

Did the supply of M101A2s and 3s dry up??

They also look funny behind a CUCV. Now if I still had my M998A1 then I would be interested in them. I don’t, so I’m not. This thread isn’t a debate between the two trailers. Each has their pros and cons. Was hoping there was a fiield full the M101A2/3s sitting somewhere waiting for...
