My 803A smokes blue on startup, and at heavy loads- Originally I figured it was wet stacked and had dirty injectors but after looking at the smoke with my videos in other threads have been thinking maybe rings? Here is the winter cold start and summer running videos, is it worth a re-ring & hone...
when warmed up no smoke at light loads and heavy blue when loaded, zero oil usage as well. 1200 hours- that translates to about 60k miles if it were in a car.
803A cold start test 18F
first cold weather since picking up the 803a did a 18F cold start with no glow plugs! fired right up perfectly! I hope the blue smoke is normal?

Iron engines should have heavy duty green, stay away from those HOAT pink and orange coolants that use Organic Acid's as they are intended for Aluminum radiators and engines and will eat solder joints up pretty quickly, I found this out the hard way by trying to over maintain my old Toyota...
I grabbed a free home heating oil tank, tons available as people are switching away from oil. Threw on a 2 micron filter and a nice pump. works great for ALOT more than the genset ;)
for whatever reason the Yanmar's start easier- even with the pre heat grid unplugged on a 0F day they fire right up where kubotas require a lot of preheat in the cold. I used to buy and sell used 4x4 compact tractors as a hobby and kept a old john deere 855 for use around the home

I just purchased a tripp lite conditioner from amazon, had to return it as the first thing you see when you unpack it is a huge warning that it cannot be used on any generators not producing perfect computer grade power. Back it went, everything I own runs perfect on the 803a but my father has...
I looked at a setup like that, strait into the meter but our local power company wanted a monthly charge for the thing, so drywall went down and a interlock went in
A local cummins shop should have parts for these as cummins bought onan who bought the lister LPW engine rights. http://www.lister-petter.com/documents/product/en-LPG[027-09104]1.pdf
But first Try replacing the return lines as stated, there is a buried thread on it- those leak and make a mess of...
nice generator! like you I mistakenly won mine by my manager hitting bid now as I had 6 computers at work refreshing the auctions that were only 5 minutes apart. When I told him how far away it was he looked at me all freaked out and said, dude we are union- I cant give you a extra day off due...
I had a F250 burn to the ground due to the tail pipe rusted where it bent over the rear axle blowing super heated exhaust from a rich carb + cat converter right onto the fuel tank changeover valve, I noticed the fuel level dropping like a rock and pulled over... one small backfire and that was...
