    12v outlet

if putting on the rear battery, you need the fuse on just the positive. If putting on the forward battery, you need fuses on both the positive AND the negative wires, as close to the battery as possible.

    12v outlet

placing that small of a load on either battery shouldn't be much of an issue in the short term. In the long term it can contribute to imbalance issues, but if you either swap your batteries front/rear every month or so, or put a 12V charger on each of them just as often to do an equalizing...

    12v outlet

If it is the 60 amp system, there is nothing on the rear to prevent imbalance either. I think what is being said here is with the 60 amp setup, due to resistances of series loads and whatnot, the front battery always ends up with higher charge than the rear over time, so would placing a very...

    Trailer mounted temp ground?

I'm a bit late to this party. I've been one of those people bit by a trailer mounted gen out in the field. Not bad enough for injury, but enough that I insisted the medics check me out. So for the RVs not being grounded, part of it has to do with the load being contained within the same...

What wheels are on your humvee?

16-20 ounces should be plenty. You just need enough to compensate for however much out of balance the tires are. Too much isn't going to hurt anything, just adds extra unsprung weight.

What's the difference between the m1114 and m1123?

M1123 is a third generation HMMWV, and the M1114 is an ECV so that makes it 4th generation. The roof setup is apparently unique to those trucks as well (it's wider I think?)

Help identify this single axle fifth wheel trailer - IDENTIFIED Laguna FTT trailer

only one I am familiar with is the Golden Eagle trailer, which looks different than that one. http://ftnews.firetrench.com/2008/07/silver-eagle-releases-new-fifth-wheel-tactical-trailer-for-hmmwv-use/

MEP-803A for 5 ton AC with soft start?

You definitely need the soft start kit for that, but it should work no problem. So for comparison (not a direct comparison I know), I have a 3 ton ECU (aircon/heater) that's surplus military. The aircon starts and operates fine with my MEP-802A, and only draws about 60% load. Startup surge is...

Shocktober wow's with Wolfer Parts or is it?

Wolfer has been in the business, selling cheap chinese parts with high failure rates, for a very long time. I can't find the posts, but I remember years ago reading about a company selling turbo "upgrade" kits for pickup trucks or cars or something like that, that were failing because they were...

Anyone need a 114" serpentine belt?

okay, looking at the pictures, you have the Pre 196900 belt setup. That is what I was trying to figure out when asking you about the idler between the generator and power steering pump. I guess I wasn't specific enough. See diagram below (red circle X) So the part number I linked for you...

HMMWV tie dows in M101/M105 bed?

Shouldn't be any issues that I can see. As long as you do a good enough reinforcement job they're just a basic tie down point.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

I agree. Anyone who would knowingly violate a government contract and potentially put the lives of our soldiers at risk, just to make a buck, wouldn't think twice about doing it to the general public.

Isn't SECO the company that got fined recently for selling Chinese knock off parts to the government claiming they were genuine?

    M1102 trailer surge brake lubrication

part of it also depends on where it is used. Some place with a lot of rain or whatnot, lubrication is good, especially if it sits a lot not being used. Somewhere dusty/sandy like the desert, some surfaces are better off not being lubricated with grease because it will stick to the sand and...

Anyone need a 114" serpentine belt?

if 112 is too long, then the one I linked from HPG will be much too long. It's in the 126 inch range if I remember correctly. Either that or you are somehow routing it incorrectly. See if you can find a cross to the K081102 from my thread, as it's 110 3/4" long. Can you take a picture from...

Auto Part Store CV Axles OK?

So the only parts store axles I'd recommend are the autozone ones. Lifetime warranty. They are made in China, and the quality isn't the best, but as your intention is to use it as a cheap spare to get you home. Plenty of reports of them doing okay, but a few reports of them failing. The...
