Removed the antenna mounts to gain some trail clearance. I need all I can get between the trees. The smilie face it made after removing is how I feel on how it looks though
I forgot to follow up. This is the one I got. GM6 is the part number. It's been working great and stalls the same as the original. Make sure you grab enough trans fluid, I think I ended up using close to 14 quarts with a trans cooler...
I ordered a stock replacement torque converter from oreilly. It was around $90 and feels just like the original it replaced. Unfortunately their site is down so I can't get the part number.
That's exactly how it felt. I was going to drop the pan tomorrow and see what it looks like in there.
I'm wondering if its a pressure issue or if something let go inside the converter.
Depending on what I find in the pan/filter, is the converter something I can change without a full rebuild...
Well was on the way to the furniture store and while slowing down for a light, the truck started to chug like it was going to die and was making a grinding noise, I was able to quickly get off onto a side street and by the time I came to a stop it died. It felt the same as when you don't release...

I just moved from Chicago to Denver and was wondering if there was anything in particular I should do for the elevation change? I plan on driving some trails a bit higher than denver (about 8k feet) or so.

I was finally able to get back to Chicago to make the 1,000 mile trip back to denver in it. I'm both excited and nervous. I figure...

This is where I got them. The A904L bracket. I originally was going to use 2 (one on each side of the female end) but after looking at the stock mount I decided 1 was probably stronger than original anyways and it saved me from drilling...
I have a set in mine for the exact same reason. The retractor side needs to be opened up a tiny bit for the stock bolt. The female side I used a 90* bend bracket and a grade 8 bolt with washers. It's a very easy "upgrade".
I got mine off a certain popular auction site for $18 a set. Make an...
You can follow this diagram if you just connect where it says IGN 12v off the switch to the 12v ignition on the fuse block. That way it'll cut power to the switch when you flip the service light off.
