700lbs of sand wasn't too bad, but the load of bricks was a bit much for the Deaver spring-pack on this Tacoma. Was sitting on the bumpstops (Light Racing Jounce Shocks, so there was still about 3" of 'suspension' left - and those wheelwells were cut-out for tire clearance).
Think this is a great upgrade. Was only trying to say that it's more about SAFETY and PERFORMANCE than LIABILITY, and that if the liability was the OP's only/main concern, he'd have been better off leaving the vehicle stock.
Am planning on installing a hydro-boost setup in mah deuce too, but if the liability is your primary concern, you might want to re-think that. You're on the hook for any modifications made. So even if you make the vehicle safer, if the person you sell it too gets into an accident and anything...
I dunno. Picked up an M353 trailer with an Astrovan. Was rated to tow more than the trailer weighed, and the angle on the tongue was ridiculous, but it was cheaper than driving mah deuce (500 mile trip).

That's not exactly right. Generally speaking, more arc means more flexibility. But using springs with too much arc on big heavy trucks like these would create a whole bunch of other problems...
Maybe. All depends on how the leafpsrings are designed/built. But yeah, more are usually means better...

Have certainly thought about it, and have seen it done (pics posted on SS somewhere), but the breakover angle sucks. That's the biggest downside I see. Payload can be somewhat mitigated by tire choice, but it is something else to consider.

Biggest thing (besides who you happen to talk to) seem to be whether you make arrangements beforehand or not. Makes perfect sense. Plan ahead if/when possible.
I contacted a GL site and made arrangements for them to hold onto a lot for me for almost a month. Guy was really cool about it. Like others have said, it's hit-and-miss. Nothing you can count on.
Are you going to mount the ram and steering linkage on the front or the back of the axle? Might want to check with PSC because most guys run those arms on the front of their rockwells and I'm guessing they might have changed the TRE mounting points on their arms, which would affect the ackermann...
