My 803 had a Facet 40193 primary fuel pump installed in it. I was having problems with it dragging down and shutting off after brief periods of load testing. I could not find the recommended AirTex E1074 anywhere. Replacement Facet pumps were over $200, that didn't seem like a good choice given...
Since:
My MEP-803a still has Facet fuel pumps.
It has a probable fuel pump problem.
The "official" replacements are hard to find.
I'm going to try an AirTex E8131 for the transfer pump, and E8135 for the auxiliary pump. Plan to install AirTex inline filters ahead of both and will check...
I understand the hard line between ip and injector, but mine has hard line from fuel pump over to the fuel filters as well. It would be easier to run 1/4" hose, why is that part done with a hard line?

Preparing to replace my fuel lines and I'm wondering why there are hard lines and soft lines for the non-ip part of the circuit? If soft line is good enough for part of the run, why isn't it good enough for all of it?

Called AirTex technical support. The E11010 is 12V, but they do have two 24V pumps:
E8131 10-14 psi
E8135 5.5-9 psi
Both are in the 14 gph free-flow volume range. AirTex sells on Amazon.

Yes, thanks, that is definitely helpful, good job reading my mind! :)
I found a bunch of Lister Petter water pumps, but I want to know how to look up the numbers myself so I can order the right one the first time!
So the manual for the 802a engine works for 803a parts? That probably explains...
Lol, thanks Daybreak, I deserved that! I was thinking there was a separate technical parts manual for the engine, just like the generator. :)

I understand how to use the technical parts manual to look up part numbers for my MEP-803a, but how do I find numbers for engine parts? Thanks!

No binding at all... the linkage totally disconnected, leaving the fuel shutoff in the "run" position. Manually moving the fuel shutoff to the "off" position stopped it.
-- Carl
Good idea, that's where I was headed when I spotted the linkage problem. That might have done it, but something was keeping the fuel pump going with the other two switches off, so maybe not...

I set out to change filters and fluids this morning and decided to run the unit briefly to make sure everything worked beforehand. It started up and ran just fine, as expected. Then I turned the master switch to off... and it kept running!
After taking this in for a few seconds I...
Ok, got some more data today...
Ran with an 80% load for about 15 minutes before it shut down with the same behavior as before: the rpms rapidly drop and the unit comes to a stop with the oil pressure light on. While it was running I monitored the temperature at the fitting for the top radiator...
