Don't plan to run any runflats. Current tires don't have runflats in them. Previous owner gave me the old runflats in a box in case I wanted them.
As for balance, I have the centramatics. So I'm hoping balance is "close enough" to compensate.. as I've not found anyone who will balance a...
Locally, I have been unable to find a tire shop willing to work on these. I'd happily pay someone, but nobody (in their words) "is authorized to" or "wants to take the liability" of military/2-piece rims. My plan is simply to follow what the service manual says. More or less:
Remove the...
For the Enforcer MT that is a much much better price then Tirerack or similar. But I wanted to try to stick with the MTs. We'll see if I come to regret it when they show up, and in a year from now. :)
Yes, that is what it sounded like when talking to the guy who called Goodyear. A month ago they wouldn't have even attempted to get permission sell them to me, but beginning of September the back order was lifted and they will sell them on a case-by-case basis.
Tires on my HMMWV were put on by the previous owner, prior to when I bought it last August. These were NOS with DOT dates from 2006-2011. Well one of the tires is starting to show some minor cracking in the sidewall, and other is showing MUCH larger cracking in the sidewall.
I started looking...
If the slider is stuck, it's probably just rust or paint (as you guessed).
The metal ducting is held in with rivets, the parts manual should show you were much of them is located. I haven't done it myself, but I think you need to remove the engine dog-house for part, and swivel the windshield...
If you got it from Mac, I'd definitely contact them about it. Maybe you just got unlucky and it really was a single bad switch. But if Mac Motor's inventory is full of bad switches, that is a much bigger problem (for them).
I'm trying to remember if my switch came from Mac or Kascar.. For...
I've had no problem getting DOT 5 from the local O'Reilly's. Military stuff in mine was yellow, but was DEFINITELY DOT 5, the O'Reilly's stuff was a red-ish/purple.. put together no issues at all, mixed just fine. My suspicion is it may have started the same color and turned yellow over time.
Turns out the tags for wire 18 and 91 were swapped on one of the two lights, which is why it didn't work. I was able to get it working..
I do like the looks of these much more then the bug-eye style it had.
Progress.. Hood is installed, I (rattle can) painted the whole thing with Rapco... Not bad for my first attempt at a camo paint job. Paint by numbers, but with a bit more guess work. :)
Only thing left to do is replace the headlights, I want to use the Truck-lite 07496, but once of the two...
I THINK this is right, but we're trying to get ahold of someone from her old unit to verify we've got it right. (the above is just paper taped there as a mock-up).
LOL -- Back in about 1998 or so my daughter was set in the front seat of a HMMWV at the Minnesota State Fair. She reached over and started it right up! (She was 2 at the time.). [Mom was in the Army Reserve and brought her to visit a few times... Clearly she'd watched how to start it.] The...
I'm using an old photo from my housemate as an example to put identifiers on my HMMWV.
She said the tailgate says:
88 C-R
HQ
114 CSH
11
So 88th Army Reserve, 114th Combat Support Hospital, HQ, 11th vehicle.
What would the front fender numbers be for this? And how would they have...
Around here, the green stuff (AND ONLY the green stuff) they claim you can pour into the sanity sewer (NOT SEPTIC SYSTEM!). And it'll be processed as normal. Just don't pour down stuff contaminated with oil or other fluids. (I was surprised as well.)
For the other color stuff, I've not found...
