    MCLB, Albany, Ga Recovery

Truck is loaded and headed North. Picked up by John Mullis trucking who seems to be a good guy. His number is 704-791-4149 for the North Carolina crowd who may be interested in using him.

    MCLB, Albany, Ga Recovery

PM sent. It was Travis89xj who offered to transport it. Depending on the timeline, I can pull it out of there and store it in my front yard if needed. Travis has pulled stuff off of MCLB Albany before and has a truck set up just right for it. As papabear would put it, "he's a good troop".

    Green OR black rims?

My truck came from a cave in Norway and was never issued. The wheels are flat black and still have the original Firestone's on them that came with the truck. In fact, I didn't know that they lug nuts are actually shiny until I pulled the back wheels off to check for HMMWV wheel fitment and the...

driving deuce in cold with no defrost.

Once the motor is warm, there seemed to be enough hot air blowing in to make this a non issue on my deuce. I've since installed a heater as driving while wrapped in a blanket was never the best of ideas.

    Is this original? USMC?

My truck's a former USMC truck and it's not on there. I agree that it was likely added by an OORAH Operator.

Turned up the injection pump this morning.....

I am going to put a huge turbo on mine, turn the fuel through the roof and then see what happens!!!! If it blows, the deuce will get a 6bt 5.9 cummins that will happily pull 3,000 rpm all day long. Maybe I'll get my 1028 overdrive and lift it before I have to back off the budget some...

NOS USMC M1028 from Norway Storage

WARWAG, finally some support! I know I got a cherry truck and I'll never forget that. Sarge say's he's ready to live and he's been in bed for way to long. Most folks on here just like to restore and look at these old trucks. I'm a little different, my boys have given these trucks names and...

NOS USMC M1028 from Norway Storage

For those interested, the truck is safe and sound tonight. He pulled Trick Or Treat duty along with the M105A2. If you want a work out, swing the sledge and spray the PB Blaster enough to get the pintle shank out so you can flip it and make the trailer ride almost level behind the M1028...

NOS USMC M1028 from Norway Storage

The lift will be done with the utmost care, ie springs and pitman arm, etc. and I'll retain all the original parts. I bought the truck for my wife who wants a good vehicle to hit the trails with at Durhamtown next year. It will be babied and kept in very good shape, not abused. I spoke with...

NOS USMC M1028 from Norway Storage

A few more for the masses. The truck drives great. Now we need to save up for an 8" lift and some 37X12.50 HMMWV tires!!!

NOS USMC M1028 from Norway Storage

******Update ******* The Feds are allowing him to keep the truck.Read the end of the thread ****************************************************** Ok, time for me to enter this arena correctly. I just picked up a M1028 from MCLB Albany that had been stored in a cave in Norway from July of...

    Interesting find

I've crossed over into this group now too. I'm proud owner of a M1028 that spent the last 23 year's in a cave in an undisclosed location and I'm sure that 2,168 original miles is likely the lowest of the group. I'll post pics tomorrow after I take them.

    Interesting find

OK, I'm a pretty understanding guy but this auction business has gotten blown out of proportion IMO. KsM175, perhaps you have been screwed over before at auction due to people knowing about a said auction. Perhaps' you've came out an auction smelling like rose's because you got something for...

Newer! 2010 GA Rally Multimedia Thread

Ron, I believe everyone on SS, or SSGA are just happy you're still amongst us. You took a heck of a ride but anyone can fix the truck. You can't replace good troops and that is why we all chipped in for diesel. Larry re-appropriated his Landoll to help you out but to also give you a hard...

    Thanks Atomic

Thanks to Russ (Atomic) for driving my truck to the GA Rally, helping me unload the M105, help me set up camp and then drive my truck back home once the weekend was all done and top it off with some fuel. He mostly hit the trails as a passenger this past weekend and we've still got some work to...

Official 2010 SS Ga Rally Info thread

I'll be there tomorrow, I'm driving PapaBear's "Proud American" gun truck. My truck is coming up thanks to"Atomic" along with my M105 packed with all my gear. Can't wait to meet everyone, you'll see "Sandcobra164" stenciled on my truck and trailer but there's no telling if I'll even be in the...
