From my experience as an Aviation Avionics and Electrical Design Engineer:
For years the FAA "thought" by virtue of a wire manufacturing competitor's rumor that TEFLON INSULATED WIRE for aircraft...
Good thoughts.

One of the comments in our very first meeting kinda showed...
EXCELLENT!
Your due diligence in checking those "silent damages" is indeed prudent.
The cost of replacement is impressive too. Bet you don't have that much invested in it, do you?
Repainting only?
Did the steel not get so hot that it compromised it's tensile strength???
I know you pulled away before the major blaze but....

So....
(NOTE: This is NOT a political topic, only a discussion of...

But alas, here I am at the polling place and am now completely UNdecided on who the best-of-the-best might be.
I sure do NEED to be convinced who my...
The engineer in my is just itching to say ONE word....
L I A B I L I T Y ! ! !
WHATEVER you decide to do, you have better have plenty of ENGINEERING ANALYSIS backing up your decisions BEFORE a CATASTROPHIC FAILURE lands you in a COURTROOM.

Tell ya what.... You post up some pics and I'll get our prayer...
PB:
I recall an old bumper sticker that was popular in west Texas back in the late '70's......
"Please don't tell my mother I work in the oilfields.
She thinks I'm a piano player in a brothel."
