So I'm hearing more and more about people driving at 65 mph on freeways. I have started driving at 60 mph now and the rpm gauge (I have the windshield mounted one, runs off the alternator) and I'm almost at 3400 rpm at ~61 mph. So is the red line of the engine not 3400?
ive heard about people taking the lower section of the soft top frame and attaching it to the hardtop frame.
Do they make hardtop frames that have the defrost vents?
So I have the condenser and compressor installed in my 94 M998A1 and I'm looking at converting it to a slantback soon and I heard that its easiest to use the dash a/c kit since the windshield frame doesnt have defroster vents.
I did some initial digging and I cannot find any anywhere (including...
So I'm thinking of adding a winch to my vehicle but my main reservation about it is that it would compromise the approach angle. I already have decided against the airlift bumper as it severely decreases the departure angle.
Does the original military A2 winch compromise the approach angle? If...
So replace both the geared hub and PS pump?
What can happen to a geared hub that would make a thumping sound? Can it be repaired rather than replaced?
Also is the PS pump the hydro-booster or is a separate pump? I heard they both pulled from the same reservoir for fluid. If not, where is the...
What kind of modifications need to be made to make the h250 work with a tri 117? The only problem with my setup is the speaker on the surplus handset won't work with the tri radio.
Do you know how to modify a surplus H-250 handset to work with a Tri 117? I've tried it and the PTT and mic work with it but the speaker does not. Have you heard anything about modifying the speaker to work?
I've mounted the Tri 117 to the lower radio deck in my hmmwv. Connected it up to a shakespear 30-512 mhz military surplus antenna. Works great! Practically plug n play.
Here we go again.
So for the tire problem I had Les Schwab 'check their work' and would you look at that! They never balanced them after replacing the old tires... but that didn't fix the problem. Run flats are secure and tire is balanced.
Symptoms:
Thumping sound that increasing frequency with...
What kind of engine life/engine wear do you run into when running a humvee above the maximum sustainable rpm (2850)?
For example, what kind of damage is done if I drive at like 62 mph for 30 minutes?
I've been gathering parts for a slantback for a year now. My current roof has the same visibility problems as a slantback would, so I wouldn't be downgrading to get a full setup.
