Nobody responded so I did the recovery myself. The truck ran great but I would have felt alot safer had someone towed or loaded the truck for me. I had set in my mind that it would cost about $500 and if someone had chimed in a quote, I'd have paid for the job. The truck is safely home now...
I'm happy for you as well. We had been sweating the EUC and then the hold issue at the same time and it looks like the wait finally paid off for you.
Congrats!!!
pjpiche1,
I understand why they do it. They do not deploy with their equipment. The military pays big bucks to have Pre Positioned Condition Code A stock at the deployment site. In the event of OIF 2003, we fell in on refurbished CCA tanks in Kuwait. Fresh from a warehouse and ready to go...
LTWVARNG,
GL on the October 7th Auction. Sale was 4737 and there were 3 M35A2's, 1 was a winch truck. They have about 10 waiting to be inprocessed and sold when I previewed my truck and they were still there when I picked mine up. A few still had good batteries and started when I did my...
Update,
It now has a GA tag. For those who wish to register an MV in GA, you will encounter very few problems. The first thing you need is a form from the tag office so that a deputy from the sheriff's office can record your VIN information. This took the officer about 5 phone calls as to...
CARNAC,
I purchased a truck recently from Ft. Rucker, AL
ID # 052517881
Reg# 04B07171
NSN 2320000771617
Unit Markings 1 145th on Passenger Bumper, D22 on Drivers side of bumper.
When you get a chance, please run the numbers so that perhaps I can learn the history of my truck. It was...
Great looking truck, welcome to the brother hood and good luck with your upcoming projects. The trucks are extremely easy to work on, everything just happens to be large and heavy but that's what makes them extremely reliable and durable!!!!
NAPA could only order 1 secondary fuel filter!!! Did Wix quit making them or is my part's house only pulling from their own stock? I know it takes two. My question is do I replace the one towards the front bumper or the one towards the tailgate first since I only have one Secondary on the...
If it's an A2, then it is a multifuel, if it's an A3 (1993 to 1997) Caterpillar repower / rebuild then it is not a multifuel. An easy way to see, if it is a stick shift, then it's multifuel, if it's an automatic, then it's clean diesel only. Sure there are a few M35's left laying around out...
Divemaster920,
I've finally figured out what I'm going to do with this truck!!! I love to tinker around as a mechanic and walking through the parts store today it finally hit me. I'll never have this truck perfect so I'll always have an excuse to want to do something else to it. I'm still...
It's probably cold and the batteries may have met their end. To charge them, you're doing correct by removing the dogbone. As far as using 2 twelve volt sources. I'm not sure but curious. I know that if you hook up an accessory wire to just 1 batteries' positive and negative terminal, then...
When I was in, I had a LMTV that would do the same thing. We would have to wiggle one of the circuit breakers (can't remember which one but probably could if I was looking at it). It would have this problem at least once a week and the mechanics never could fix it. Once started, it always ran...
I'll just weigh this in as well. Most of the trucks sold on Ebay are listed about a week after the EUC has cleared from GL and the recovery has been completed. Take for example myself. I just recovered my truck yesterday. I paid $1045 for the truck, put some batteries in it, (Hawkers but if...
Disregard some of the last post. I pulled the offending axle shaft to find that the keyway had nothing in it (cork, rtv or otherwise) and determined this was likely my problem. In my excitement of having the truck mostly operational, I packed the keyway with RTV. I know that I still need to...
Thanks for the advice. I checked all of my breather vents and the leaking axle's was plugged. I cleaned it, checked the fluid and it was a little high. The leak is not as bad now (not as much to leak out I guess) but it's still a Class 3. I checked the other axles and they are high as well...
Clinto,
I've got some maintenance to perform but if all goes well, there's not much keeping me from the Rally!!!! I plan on doing a good -20 level check this weekend. The leaking axle was easy to identify but it didn't start until sometime in the last 20 miles of the trip. Other than that...
I searched and BFR did a great writeup / how to concerning replacing rear axle seals. The question I have is why is my axle leaking back through the brake drums? Is the keyway cork or RTV not applied properly as I see no other way for it to leak this way? Or do I have a more serious problem...
For what it's worth, Mine was listed as "does not start" and when I put some new batteries in it, it fired up within 2 seconds. The ads on GL can be misleading, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Make sure to preview it or request that a fellow SS member can check it out for you.
Can't speak for Kentucky but the tag office in GA said that my "bill of sale" (invoice) would grant me 30 days. Of course, like you are planning, I had my invoice and proof of insurance in the cab with me today on my recovery!!!!!!!!! Went well but plugged the primary fuel filter with water...
Got my truck today and even better she's a runner. I put new batteries in and turned her over for about 2 seconds and she started. She stalled after about ten seconds but started right back up and drove back to my property here in Leesburg, GA (120 miles). No issues other than a class 3 leak...
