I've used a few of the Faria Euro Black gages, but some of the readily available , cheap ones need an $11 voltage adapter board , or just wire in a 100 ohm resistor ( in the case of the oil gage) into the +24 to drop it to 12V. Might be worth the extra money to just get gages designed for 24V...
All 4 lots of LPW4 motors that sold over the last couple weeks were all used / cores. ( that's not to say they won't run ) They were not new or rebuilds. I was bidding on them as well, but like Smokem joe said, It would be nice to have a few, but I don't need 11 or 13 of them. I would however...
In addition to the turbo size you used, can you give any detailed info on what you need to do to the fuel system to support the extra power of the turbo install? I've got a couple extra LPW2's and always thought of converting my log splitter, but why not throw on a turbo too. I have an extra...
Not to go too far back into this discussion, but if you are going to stock up on filters, check RockAuto.com there are dozens of compatible oil filters, available for as little as $1.50 ea. if you do some creative searching you can find tons of options. You can also get Wix for about $4. They...
Whenever you guys buy spare pumps to keep on-hand for emergencies, make sure you check your inlet/outlet location and fitting sizes to be sure you won't need any adapters/fittings to make the pump fit. Depending on which style pump you are replacing, the inlet and outlets may be reversed and...
I have used 3 or 4 of the 8.5" senders on the 803's. The float is very close to rubbing on the side of the step down portion of the tank, so I made a plastic ring slightly larger than the float diameter to press onto the very bottom of the rod to prevent the float from touching the side of the...
When you dig into the pump there's a good chance you will find that the "dogbone" ( I forget the real name ) is split open and will need to be replaced.
If so, it's relatively easy and the part is available directly from Ambac. If you need the schematics or timing instructions, they are...
Flywheel cover bolt on an 803?? not sure what bolt you are referring to. Can you post a pic of where you are talking about? Are you talking about the bellhousing to engine block bolts?
Try cleaning / exercising the AC selector switch. I also just had an 003A with a bad gage. It would peg itself up over 100% with only a 50% load, turned out to be a bad gage, but this gage would also bounce around wildly under little to no load, so that was a good indicator....
Last possibility...
I just did a VR board in one of these machines that had the same issue, 160V / 320V and no response from the voltage adjust knob.
ended up replacing the 2 smaller transistors and a slightly burnt looking resistor, now it works perfectly.
I got the parts on ebay fairly cheap, maybe $25 total and...
I've used a couple Beede 947886 temp gages purchased new on the big E- auction site for $24 and free shipping.
The gage goes up to 250 instead of 240 but they work good none the less and the face looks like the gages used on Fermont and reset Libby machines.
I've also used the 80 psi. Beede...
Agreed, I recently had same issue with one of my 803A's, bad alternator drained batteries in a day or 2. Also used the test light method. just disconnect the wires ( probably start with the wire feeding to the left of the regulator ) and see if the test light goes out.
If I recall correctly...
Yea, right? Best part was the seller sent me free replacements but managed to send 1 4cyl and 1 2 cyl gasket somehow. Since the 2 cyl. gaskets cost more I just kept them and ordered another 4 cyl. Wouldn't you know.... it got bent too!
I even told the guy to sandwich it between something...
FYI, head gaskets are available on ebay for $15 probably a good idea to ask the seller to write "Do not Bend" on the package.
I bought a couple of them and on both occasions they came in the shrink wrap package with a piece of cardboard, inside a bubble package. The mail man figured it was OK...
Here's another spare part I found that works well.
If you have a cracked, missing or broken coolant overflow bottle on an 802/803 the overflow bottle from an 86' - 95' Suzuki Samurai fits perfectly, you just have to change the drain hose routing a little because the bottle is a top feed/dip tube...
titoveli, You might want to remove the cover panel over the front 1/2 of the machine, the K1 relay is under that cover, behind the rear wall of the control box. On the front edge of the K1 relay there are 4 small wires. 2 wires send 24VDC to the relay from S5 and ground to close the relay and...
Yes, I had thought about heat guns or I also have an IR heat lamp I use for automotive fenders etc. but the cure process Forrest Paint ( stove brite's mfr. ) suggests is air dry for 4 hours, then 450F for 1 hour followed by 600F for 1 hour...
Hello everyone, Wanted to give you a little new information on the Stove Brite engine paint and ask everyone's opinion on its durability.
It is a great color match for newer LPW engines but I've found that because it requires a very high temperature curing process ( as described in the spec...
