    Redstone M931 Recovery Problem

I don't know if Wreckerman has the ability to deal with stuff that big that's disabled but he's dead reliable and has saved clintogf and my bacon on a couple occasions. He's also amusing. There are a couple of other members who have posted up that they can assist in Redstone ops, I'd do a...

    M38A1 saved from scrapyard

Apparently this was a situation where an older gentlemen had it , then stopped driving it for whatever reason and it sat. He passed away, widow didn't understand it's historical significance, sent it off to scrap. I won't be able to get a title. Ga. just flat out will not issue titles for...

    Axle Seal/Hub Thoughts

The shape and design of the rockwell makes it incompatible with "oil bath" type bearing setups like you describe. Military rockwell = greased bearings. Do a search for "oil bath" and you'll find the thread(s) discussing this.

I feel like something is missing here( PTO)

Phil just got our last set of extra bumperettes. The spring bolts can be had from hardware places, half the time they're ruined anyhoo. I'll look in our stash this weekend. If I don't pm you, remind me. I was dropped on my head a lot as a child and have bad memory.

    M38A1 saved from scrapyard

So a friend of mine called me last week and said "I know a guy who runs a scrapyard (not a junkyard but an actual metal recycling place) and he has some kind of Willys Jeep. It's military but before my time. They're gonna crush it next week, wanna go look at it?" Well, does a...

I feel like something is missing here( PTO)

You're missing multiple things. 1. PTO shift linkage and associated bracketry 2. Skid plate under the air pack 3. A solid reading of the TM's 8)

We'll be there-picking up a ton of paint and hanging out. Not bringing any display vehicles or sale items.

    We're Baaaaaack!

You broke it has been my standard retort since about the 11th grade, when a friend of mine and I flipped his Dad's CJ5 over on a dirt road. Upside down on the side of the curve, both in our seat belts: "Dude, I think you broke it"

Did this fall off my deuce?

It did. Do you have a spring ride seat? Look under the seat cushion. It locks the seat track for fore and aft movement.

    Multifuel head job

This is correct. Secondarily, the site has a wealth of information already out there. All you have to do is search for it. Valve adjustment: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/multis-valve-adjustment.70421/ https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/deuce-valve-lash.46439/...

    465 head gasket retorques..........

They did not refer to multiple torque values Gaskets sealed reasonably well, after about 3 years a few mild leaks are visible on the passenger side of the block where the deck meets the heads. Bought a complete multi engine gasket kit from a member I don't see here on the site anymore. Can't...

    transmission

When they're "right" they're quiet. Much quieter than an M-22. And I'm familiar with M-22's. I've got a couple that are really noisy in 5th gear-haven't pulled them down yet, but I'll guess it's bearings. One has been like this for 5+ years.
