Welcome to the Outfit!
Glad to hear that you have your very own piece of green goodness - and that you got a little snow to keep it gainfully employed! :)
Don't forget that you can hunt down the schematics here and some of the TM's as well. Nice looking truck too!

Might be worth your time to make sure what has been done for sure. Crawl around. Look for grease, check the differentials. Cheaper To Keeper than to assume it was all done.
Remember the old story: Don't believe anything anybody told you and only half of what you see. Of course if that...

Couple of fallons of gas in the diesel tank is good to help clean the injectors every now and again. Couple of older than me guys always claimed it needed to be done regular.
Me personally -I don't think I would want to have Gas AND Ether in a diesel startup though...

If you mean connect to the positive and negative posts on the low / weak battery with your jump start box - yes. That should work and has worked in the past on a lot of 24v machines. It may not give you much "juice" but it is worth a shot. Otherwise, put a charger on each individual battery...

Welcome to the Outfit!
It does look like a nice truck too. Like @Steelreaper80 suggested, packing bearings is a heck of a good idea. You are gonna huff and puff and grunt when you pull those tires off, then hubs to get to the bearings - but the time spent will save you money down the road...

You are gonna love it! The source for this is a military publication called PS Magazine. All kinds of information available there... Even a character called Joe Dope was the guy demonstrating safety - and he regularly got hauled away - in an ambulance for doing "not smart" stuff.
Check out...

There is something to be said for a mechanical winch for sure. I have seen M37's hanging from a winch cable with no wheels on the ground... No real answer for WHY. But there aren't a lot of vehicles that can do that - and a battery powered winch can't.

Yep, the most difficult part is the import game. Back 80 years ago, there were people who really hacked off a lot of Americans. To the point that some of the folks here wouldn't drive a foreign vehicle.

Didn't post this in the DAILY JOKE section... Cause it isn't a joke!

Can't wait to see the pictures!!
Congratulations on the truck way back in 2016 and Welcome to this Outfit!
Next month, you need to enter the MV of the Month!
No charge and even more folks will be ogling your truck!

Sad but true...
These days everyone expects most things in a day or two. I can still remember the days of old when you ordered something out of California - shipping to North Carolina - 3000 miles away and it took a couple of weeks?
.
My originals are still functional - but I would love to know how the KA5066's work. Seems that the more things are used on these trucks and the older they get, the sooner they need a replacement.
Figure by the time I get everything updated, the next guy can deal with it 20 years from now!
.
Maybe somebody could snap a few pictures of the stencils - more likely a painted truck and then measure the font height and line width. We make stencils and a lot of other things but without a set of measurements, it is nothing but a guessing game.
If there is a CAD person that could create...

Here in North Carolina there have been Binswanger Glass companies in Charlotte for many years. I bought insulated glass panels for my house in the 80's. Kinda became my default glass company - just because they always seemed to have or be willing to do what I needed done. About a year ago...

Neat! Glad you got it repaired. Takes a little time and effort to shape threads with a thread file. Cool part of using that tool is that a few of the good threads will "guide" your file to keep everything straight.
I have used a "knife edge file" to shape threads when I didn't have a...
