    1984 CUCV question?

. No Absolutely NOT! We thank you for dealing with the old, the sick and tired and hurt too. On top of the WooFlu mess. I was just being nosey because if you had a truck for sale I was interested. There are several other folks who may be as well. Thought you said you had posted pix. No...

    1984 CUCV question?

. So, have you posted any pictures? I poked around in the Vehicles for Sale section and couldn't find anything.

Advice needed - new guy with MEP004A

. I am on it. Ordered some material and it should arrive on Monday or Tuesday - assuming everything goes according to Amazon.

. Well good! That will save you some bucks. Pull that baby and give it a good washing. Then when you drain the oil, put it back and let the oil circulate like was already discussed. No more in the tank that you have to have - and sadly - like the instructions on the back of a shampoo...

    M1008 Build

. That's sad. Some folks just never were told about heat expansion. Tight is nice until a little expansion freezes everything up... I guess the good news is that you found it before you found yourself on the side of the road.

. Just happened to think about it... Guessing there is a filter in there somewhere? You might want to pull that if it has one. You might get rid of more water that way on the first "flush fill". If it isn't a paper cartridge type filter, maybe it is a metal strainer and that could be washed...

    A2 Coolant sensor?

. I understand the fair skin and sunburn! I will go out and grab a few pictures shortly.

Bringing back to life a 2009 HMMWV M1165A1 from GovPlanet - total newbie, please help...

. Doubtful. Don't know if you have a radiator shop in your town, but having them give yours a careful inspection - clean and pressure test - would be money well spent.

. There is no reason to completely fill the tank on these flush fills either. Maybe 10 gallons. Could be 5 so long as you are just exercising the cylinders and not trying to work it hard. No need to waste any more fluid than you have to...

    KC Lights Stopped Working

. Wow! That is great news. Amazing how things work - and these projects definitely take time. We appreciate the update for sure! Your cleanup on the ground block is a definite good plus too!

. No stress, no pressure. I will see about finding some material and get it on the way. That way I can make a few test cuts and be ready when you are. Would be neat if we could find some sort of neoprene so it is easy to remove the cover later if you ever need to down the road...

Advice needed - new guy with MEP004A

. Neat! I would be happy to cut the valve cover gasket. Guess I need to figure out what kind of material is needs to be. Guessing a local NAPA or some place like that will sell what we need in a roll. I will beam you a PM with my email so I can look at the file to start looking for material.

    Wood chassis/frame shims

. Agreed. Here in the print shop, we have paper knives that are sitting on four inch oak blocks. The guys who install those machines bring blocks and a small portable planer. The blocks are smaller pieces of oak that are bonded together and the "floor side" has what I call air gaps on the...

    Opinion on towing capacity

. Sounds like you heard what a lot of us wanted you to hear. Just like with guns and "every bullet fired is attached to a lawyer" these trucks, especially bigger ones can be the same way. Some goober ending up with your stuff if you make even a simple error in judgement makes a really bad day...

. That is a heck of an idea! CNC cut gasket material should be an easy job to do. We have a 5x10ft cutter that we cut signs with. Plastic, rubber, aluminum, paper, pressure sensitive vinyl... All kinds of "non steel" materials. Just a simple DXF file to feed it to the cutter. The tough...

    A2 Coolant sensor?

. Seems reasonable. Heck, you could possibly use an inch of windshield space if you needed to and still be good. Guess you don't plan to fold down the glass for anything? Different truck completely, but the guy I bought my M1088 has a "console" above the window in my truck. I wouldn't have...

. Ya know, sometimes when chasing a low voltage ground issue - it is worth sacrificing a piece of 14 gauge wire. Take a long piece of wire, and in this case attach the wire to one of the screws on the sending unit. Take the other end and route it directly to the battery and connect it there...

Advice needed - new guy with MEP004A

. Safety Glasses or a Shield or maybe BOTH could be in order using an impact on a puller. Thing is, we all just wanna get the job done and walking over to the bench for safety glasses is a pain... Having both eyes though would make that trip across the room would be worth your time.
