Connecting the grounds together shouldn't be a problem and allows you to use the frame as a reference for both the +12 and +24 volt equipment. It's never a good idea to use multiple regulators in a system because there can always be slight differences in their voltage outputs and this can cause...
When you have 2 radios set up for retrans operation one of them is receiving on one frequency and the other transmitter is transmitting the same message on a different frequency. This was done so that you could have one radio tuned to a battalion radio net and another that would retransmit it...
The PRC-68Bs are FM tactical radios operating on the 30-88Mhz band. The PRC-126 and 128 are the same basic radio but the PRC-128 has a changeable sythesizer module allowing it to operate either in the 30-88 Mhz band or in the 130-174Mhz band but not both at the same time. The PRC-126 doesn't...
Your right now that I look at it again. The MP-50 has a 2" hole in both of the flat surfaces to mount an AB-15. Jason, can you tell us what antenna you would like to mount and on what vehicle? This way we can be as accurate as possible.
Kurt
Jason,
This is an MP-50 mount, second war vintage but used throughout Korea and VietNam. If you are after a mount for either the 442 or 151 you can use the standard sugar scoop. I don't have the number handy but the mount you want is s similar in shape to the AB-450 but has tapered sides...
The 60 Amp Prestolite alternators have sealed regulators on their back ends so electrical spray won't do you much good here. Blow out the cobwebs and leaves from the alternator body and then of you want to remove the regulator plate by removing the 6 screws on the rear cover and carefully...

TacticalDoc,
Power converts and power inverters are pretty much the same beast the difference being in their outputs. The key word is power though. In a perfect world an inverter taking 24VDC to 110VAC at 2Kw requires half the power needed to take 12VDC to 110AC assuming the...
I know that BAE Systems had a couple to do product development on that were never DOD property and eventually they could come up for auction outside of the thieves at GL.

I don't know about spacious Augi. Ever tried to replace that right side exhaust manifold? What a pure PITA! I tore up my hand doing it and never went back to install that ****ed heat shield. Allen head bolts in inaccessible places at weird angles. What a winning combination. It would...
Meduser,
The AS-3900 will work perfectly well with the RT-524, the only difference between them is the MX-6707 (AT-1729) needs a control cable to tell it the frequency range you are operating on and the AS-3900 is broadband and doesn't need it. You didn't state what model HMMWV you have but...
The 3614 switchboard was a real PITA to make work. The manuals that were available were written for a person who knew and understood telephone systems rather than the typical manual that assumed the operator knew nothing. We spent 3 days and finally got 2 phones to talk to each other after...
Vanner makes a whole series of commercial battery balancing units that allow you to draw 12 volts from a 24 volt system. They will also work to keep the batteries balanced so you don't kill one before the other . Here's a link to their website: http://www.vanner.com/manuals/65-80.pdf These...

What HAM wouldn't give a left apendage for a 3.6 MW antenna and transmitter!! I'm waiting for it to come up on Government Liquidation. Interestingly there are several of these sites around the world and some of them are in the former Soviet Union! There are some great Australian...
I'd suggest that you check to make sure all the wires are properly connected to the composite lights. If you have the ground connected to a bulb the loading changes dramatically and who knows what might happen. You could be drawing current thru 2 bulbs and the flasher might not be able to...
Greg,
Your trying to keep water out of the AB-15 with the nipple so what you want to do is to screw the MS-116 into the AB-15 then slide the nipple down over the mast section. This way any water that collects on the antenna and runs down the mast sections doesn't run into the AB-15...
Here's a link to a troubleshooting guide for the HMMWV put together by AM General. There's a lot of great information in it for all of us who own these vehicles.

These wiper motors aren't worth repairing other than to change a bad switch. Just replace the unit. They're available surplus through 86humv or many other surplus dealers.
There's a widget that looks like an overgrown flat washer that adapts the AB-15 to that mounting bracket. I forget the number but they're out there. There are some tricks for keeping your antenna alive over the years you should know about. The mast sections are made of copper plates steel and...
I'm not sure what your asking here. The front and rear lights are called composite lamps and have independent bulbs for each function internally. If your asking about the red and yellow lens assemblies, no, they are not interchangeable.kurt
