I've used both electric and pneumatic impact wrenches on my truck for years and have returned to using a breaker bar to remove the wheel nuts and a torque wrench when reinstalling them. I was snapping wheel studs on my right rear tire and attributed it to overtorquing them with the impact...
This is the type of thing the military is really good at. Somebody had an idea and they had some money to develope it but I'd bet dollars to donuts that other than a few that came out of the project they were never popular. 99% of the time if you needed to use 2 bullhorns you'd just use a PA...
Because the LEDs use so much less current to illuminate they will show any current leakage in the flasher as a dim light where incandescents wouldn't. That's where I'd begin TS this problem. As for "designed to work with", no matter who the manufacturer is the lamp specifications are for the...
That lamp housing is pretty universal. They're usually found with an infrared filter over the bulb to use with NV gear but there are versions with red lamps for MP use, patterend lenses for fog lamps and clear lenses for general illumination. There's also a double lamp version with a built in...
You have to have a set of manuals to effectively maintain a HMMWV. They're downloadable off of the internet but hardcopy is the way to go. The information you need is in TM9-2320-280-20-3 on FO-1. 11A to B, 29A to R, 14A to S.

If you do an internet search for BA-15s connectors you'll find these connectors. Most of the hits will be for the recepticles but interspersed are some of the male types too.

Cliff is entirely correct with this posting and it's never a bad idea to remind people of the legal aspects of radio operation. Just because the equipment is available doesn't mean it should be used without the appropriate licenses. The FCC has dropped the morse code requirement in their...
Ohiohmmwv,
When the HMMWV was first introduced the most commonly seen radios were the VRC-12 family of radios. These consisted of various mixes of the following radio sets. Some of these numbers represent combinations of the basic sets and nomenclature can be totally confusing to the beginner...
I've had the electronic light switch in my HMMWV since they first started showing up and have never had a problem with it. After reading all the horror stories about them though I carry one of the old 3 lever switches with me as a backup.
The electronic switch looks sexy but you have to look...
If you look back at the SINCGARS history it's pretty sad. The original 1439s were introduced in the late '80s and were a nightmare. Lot's of technical issues. The original 1523 only added internal crypto but retained all the other headaches. The "B" models were producted from about '94 to...
antennas
Joey,
That antenna shows a lower end of 20Mhz, this cuts out 20Mhz of the HF band so not very usable there but it would work at a 10 or 11 meter antenna and do your digitally trunked stuff. There are some Shakespear dual band antennas floating around out there that run up to 450Mhz...
The grounding harness is a very simple item to make up. I used some #8 wire from a stereo shop because of it's availability and flexibility. Some Thomas & Betts crimp lugs and your good to go. I have plenty of this wire if you have trouble finding it locally.

You can thank the EPA for the complete lack of cad plated hardware in this country. Almost everything we see now is from Taiwan. Cadmium is a dirty process elke most plating processes but there should have been a better option than forcing us to go overseas for it. Likewise here in California...
