Sometimes, the HOTS LOTS have the nicest trucks included in them, but I've also seen some really rough trucks come up in the HOT LOTS. I am sure they have done their research and people bid higher on the HOT LOTS so they want to ensure the highest amount possible for a heap of S***. Any ideas?
Perhaps, I saw a different auction at Sparta. If you guys are referring to the two lots that I was watching, they were troop seat kits for a dump truck, not a deuce. Unless you have unlimited imagination and a lot of time, there is no way you are getting them to work on a deuce. I assume I...
I agree...the cargo cover makes the truck. However, I don't like to put cargo covers on all of my trucks so I can enjoy the different looks. Once you have had a cargo cover on a truck for a while, and take it off, it almost feels like a different truck...same goes for going one step further...
I thinik $350-400 should get you what you want. Of course, if you are going to GMA, the price will be higher, but you'll be getting freshly made products.
When did they start to produce M809 series trucks? I thought I read someplace that it was in 1969. If that is the case, I have an XM817 dump that was produced in 1971 (it was manufactured by General Products). That is an awful long time for something to become certified and adopted as...
It was nice to have met you at the base. I am glad I could help. You have a nice truck there...by the way, it just might be a 1953 Reo. The truck originally had an electric horn...only the older trucks had electric horns. There is nothing wrong with owning a truck that was a converted gasser...
RE: M35 1100s speed
The thing about having larger tires on your deuce is you lose torque. The previous posters are correct, the top speed should be higher, but it will take more to get there and you will lose a good amount of your torque on long, steep hills because of the larger tires. Get...
I recently bought a very clean M151A2, but there is a problem with the transmission. I know I've seen places that sold new transmissions, but I can't locate them now. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new transmission for an M151A2?
I should have added this to the previous post...
They are very stout trailers. They are rated at 1-1/2 tons, but the suspension is much more stout than an M105A2. I have no doubt you could seriously overload the trailer with no ill effects. The limiting factor could be the tires. I have...
I agree with the other posters that this pilot program is being driven by the overwhelming number of M35A2s coming out of the system. I also believe that GL is tired of hearing us complain about the poor service we receive. I know we are right on this, but I would not underestimate the value...
I recently bought an M35A3, but it has not yet made it home. I have a question regarding the VIN #. Did they issue a new VIN number or did the truck retain its original VIN # when it was rebuilt? If it is the former, is there any way to track the history of the original truck? When was it...
David, do you think an M932/M931 would have any easier time with these trailers? I've owned plenty of the M939 and M809 series and I've found the M939 series trucks have more b****. It could have been the trucks that I've owned, but I have owned quite a few of each. My old M936A2 started off...
