Check into the regulations on importing from Puerto Rico. When I briefly looked into it some years back, I was told that you had to have all fluids drained (the fuel tank even needed to be steam cleaned!). That is extra $$$$ if you have to pay someone to do that. Check it out first. Good luck!
I would bet that prices will rise once they stop coming out of GL. Each year, more and more trucks are parted out, junked, etc. As we have fewer and fewer in circulation, prices will increase. I have no idea what prices we'll see in a few years. I could see a $6K deuce becoming the norm...
I purchased an M932 several years ago in HI. The truck was not running at the time. I had to pay for the following:
1) towing from the site to another location for containerization
2) the container
3) shipment of the container to the port
4) disassembly of the truck to get it into the...
The problems and expense come in when you are buying a truck that may not be running (unless you can get someone on the "other" side to get it running). My experience with Matson...if it won't run, it needs to be containerized. This can be costly if you are talking about a larger vehicle like...
Rosco: I'd bid if I were you...get two and tow one with the other. What could that cost in fuel? $4,000? Just think of all the gas station attendants you'd get to meet on the drive back!

Lance: I can tell you from experience...with regard to your dispute, they will do nothing other than allow you to back out of your bid. How's that for a fair resolution?!?! Hey GL, if I wanted to back out, I wouldn't have bid! Instead, I bid a great deal of hard-earned money and got screwed...
They basically have a monopoly on surplus sales and this is what happens when a company has a monopoly. They have no reason to compete for the customers because the customers come to them. No competition = no reason to change.
RE: Re: weight of m817 dump
My reco...avoid the winch trucks...they bring more money. While they look better in my opinion, most times you will not need a winch.
If you know anyone who is a lawyer, have them draft a letter threatening litigation IF you are in the "right." I was told to be thankful that I was not getting hit with a default fee BEFORE...that's right BEFORE...the 14-business-day deadline even came. The only reason I was delayed in getting...
