As long as you don't end up cooling your engine down below 180 degrees, which is unlikely with a working thermostat in the cooling system, I see no issues with having the fan run 100% of the time.
I know the fan in mine comes on up around 220-225 on the gauge, and only runs for 20-30 seconds...
That's pretty much all we ever did in my unit in the Army. Some of the ones mounted to trailers had bows and covers over them, mostly the MEP00X series. The MEP80X units didn't get covered.
It SHOULD be just fine out in the weather, but here in the civilian world we don't typically have all...
L0 is the same as Neutral, right?
I can't find a single wiring chart after multiple searches that puts a green wire as anything other than ground (or green-yellow as protective earth in Europe, but same basic meaning). I'm still looking, but I can't find them.
Now, I can understand if you're...
I went out and checked mine, did continuity test. I wired in a 5 wire pigtail and 30 amp 208 3 phase plug, wired according to mfg spec for the plug.
The cable for the ECU only has 4 wires, and the 4th wire at the ECU end checked out as ground for me.
That being said, on the generator side of...
There is a very large amount of airflow from the generator blowing the exhaust off to the side, so as long as there is plenty of space for it to blow the heat and exhaust out away from the unit and not back into the intake I don't see any issues.
You could always make removable panels to hide...
side note, using anything with electronics in it or motors when a generator is running at the wrong frequency has a decent possibility of damaging things. Many items are designed specifically to use 60hz from the utility company's power for regulating internal electronics stuff and the wrong...
My guess would also be the meter is accurate most likely, but verifying the problem to make sure you really do have a problem and not just a bad gauge reading is pretty standard for working on any generator.
While the TM mostly talks about it being a possible wiring issue (for unit level...
First step would be to verify with a multimeter that the frequency is actually what the display is showing.
After that I would check the TM in the troubleshooting section and follow the flow chart for "CIM DISPLAY SCREEN VOLTAGE GAGE INDICATES VOLTAGE, BUT FREQ GAGE IS OFF SCALE". Basically...
Looks like the MEP-006A would be too small. From what I read, minimum is 72kw at 480v, the 006 is only 60kw.
Some versions require up to 350KW

I've got customers with single wide trailers with 20kw generators, and retired doctors with beach front homes running 6kw generators.
Then there was also the guy that didn't want to have to manage the loads, so he put in a 40kw generator so he could keep his pool house operational when the...
ran it 30 minutes, no problems showed up. Now I have a 6KW heater, just need to get the aircon recharged to see if it will work or not. If not I'll do something different with the trailer they're on.
Downside of the 105s is they require air to operate the brakes, unless you swap to a civi axle with electrics.
I think the 105s are about 2700 lbs empty, and the 1101/2 about half that, so the 240lbs payload and being slightly narrower aren't much of an offset to the extra weight you start...
So to answer my own question...
Yes, it can be done. I disconnected wires TB3-1, TB3-2, and TB3-3 from a terminal block directly in front of the heater elements inside the unit, behind the cover for the outlet portion.
Third set of wires on each phase.
Generator is running at 115% on the...
So here is the question before I just start opening things up and poking around, I haven't physically looked at the heater element wiring, so not sure if this is even a valid idea or not, wanted to bounce it off people with more experience with these than I have.
The heat elements in this are 3...
Moving the truck around, found an oily spot on the ground.
Crawled under the truck, found diesel dripping from the driver's side of the engine.
Looked at it from the top and found the front fuel return line between the injectors was rubbing against the flywheel on the alternator, and had...
It's the Amtech helmet top, Legacy 2 door, tall version.

I was actually just looking for a 2 man soft top, asked the local facebook group if anyone had one they could sell me, as my HMMWV is getting wet a lot (Pacific Northwest weather). One of the guys had...
A lot of diesel engines have to run hot to burn the fuel completely. That's usually at around 50% or higher load. Running below that the engine is a little cool, the fuel doesn't burn completely, and oily fuel residue begins to build up in the cylinder head and exhaust system (looks like the...
