You don't know what you've been missing.
Old gas smelled good. Old gas that got old smelled funky.
New gas smells bad. New gas that gets old doesn't work - and still smells bad.
Thanks, Dave. How would you describe the smell of it?
My fuel smells like late Seventies gasoline which has been sitting in the tank for about 10 years after that...in case you have ever had the pleasure of encountering a similar situation.
Needless to say, I'm draining the tank, but first the...
There's something not-diesel in the fuel tank of the FLU419 I just bought, with a fair amount of corrosion and gunk above the fuel level on the inside of the cap, the strainer, and chain.
It smells like very old gasoline, and made me queasy - which usually takes a lot of toxic stuff.
Apparently...
Hmm. Never even thought about insurance since I use them on the property and rarely get out on the roads. Figured they'd fall under the homeowners policy. Might have to look into this.
Still, a SEE doesn't feel very confidence inspiring over 25 mph, and being a low rpm person, 30 mph is plenty...
It does help (a little bit) that I remembered that I do have some green. An M116A2 (I think) trailer, and a larger one which I can't recall the designation of, and my trusty M1008.
But, yeah, I really don't know what the heck to do with that SEE now.
Should take the alcohol reservoir off and...
Well, that was a bummer. Today my parts-SEE arrived. No tools in it, but the low range works fine (it wasn't supposed to) and the non-operational 4WD seems to be a stuck switch.
Except for some electrical stuff and the e-brake, everything seems to work. The engine purrs, and it runs and operates...
I'm guessing you were referring to the HMMH, if so, here are a few pics.
And don't worry too much about the fuel leak - not now when fuel is somewhat affordable again.
Wow, you lucky dog.
Mine was far from mint and had lots of miles on the odo. But it has served me very well so far, and at times I'm working the snot out of it. And it did come with the tools, which was a pleasant surprise.
One thing I'd recommend doing early on, after checking fluids, lubing...
It indeed is. And it feels like a new vehicle compared to the SEE.
Of course, it has far fewer miles on it (or a much more recent refurb).
Alright, now I can delete the pic...put it in just for you.
Cause for celebration! Finally got the HMMH all checked out (fluids and such) and even got the side-to-side cylinder on the forklift working.
It's such an uplifting feeling - in both ends. Of the HMMH, that is.
Mike, I never drove a Deuce, but I doubt you'd have problems fitting in or seeing out of a SEE.
The driver's side seat cushion is adjustable for height in the back, but mine are at the lowest setting - which maybe I should try changing to improve the visibility of what's down by the bucket...
Oops, I did it again.
Figuring that I'd have a somewhat constant future need for parts, I bought a parts-SEE.
This (stupid) move also allows me to experiment with various modifications to the loader, backhoe bucket, etc. - and when they fail, I still have a functional SEE.
Please tell me that...
Guess you could use the front glad hands for towing an air brake equipped trailer while in Reverse, but most likely they're there to facilitate the SEE being towed, making its brakes work just as if it were a trailer.
Now you got my already overworked mind wanting to try towing the SEE behind...
