Head gasket leaks on the F-134 are not uncommon. Plus it's 50 years old. I'd check the head bolt torque and if it persists, pull it off. You can have the head off in 90 minutes.

The adapters are to mount the Optima in the box that was designed to hold a 6TL. The adapter fits in the recesses in the box, then the batteries clip into the adapter.

Go check all the battery cable connections from one end (the battery) to the starter. Make sure everything is clean and tight.
