CUCV's are notorious for electrical grimlins....look for any modifacations to the wiring and if found ask the seller for an explaination....if none is forthcoming ("I bought it like this. they are all modified like this") run....don't walk away.
Go through the CUCV threads here and you should...
When you're up to your arse in aligators it's the wrong time to remember the original intent was to drain the swamp.rofl
Ya did good Son.[thumbzup][thumbzup]
A good war story for the GA Rally campfire.
Welcome to the Green Iron Lauging Accademy.:cookoo:
We tried to start a 12 step program but nobody wants to quit.
If you think CUCV and duece fever is bad wait till you drive a M915.
As Kenny said if you can make it to the GA Rally in your big rig there is plenty of room to park...
I have a deuce side panel with the scoop on it....it came off my deuce that hit the front of the van trailer....the panel is FUBAR but the scoop is good...I'll throw it in the trailer....if you can use it we'll swap for something.
When are you leaving?
I am leaving Jacksonville around 4 pm Tuesday and hope to be at Durhamtown by 10 PM.
I'll be leaving Sunday around noon for the return trip.
I have a buddy that might be leaving later....he will be in a deuce.
It sounds like you have a pretty good handle on the situation.
Driving it back will be a grand adventure.
For a survival stove you can't beat the miltary Yukon stove...they will burn anything........they came with a coal grate, could burn wood and had a diesel/ gas burner set up.
Since you...
I'll send you measurements tomorrow....my guess it that is it may be.....I think it was used to access shelters up in the back of deuces or 5 ton cargos.
It has tabs on it that look like they were made to go in slots cut into the tailgate.
Tigger....if your new friend shows up his money will be no good at the MKT.
He and his will be Steel Soldier's Guests of Honor.
If he is there Saturday morning he can ride along with someone on the hardball convoy to the VFW.
By the way....is anyone bring an American flag and a pole to...
I don't think so...this one was buried under a load of crap in the van trailer. I used it last year at the GA Rally but I have a ladder (boarding steps) that hook into the side of the van now. While I was repacking the van it surfaced along with some stuff I bought last year and never unloaded...
Does anyone have the air valve assemblies for the HEMMT wheels....if I score some tires I'll need them.
If someone knows an alternative work around that would be OK too.
