    M35A2 Sound Deadening Project

It won't matter that much to you in the PNW, but those of us in the South have to deal with extreme heat as much as noise. Mike who wrote the thread and built the truck in the link above had a few comments at the 2007 GA Rally about his insulation. He said the noise and heat were reduced a...

    Tank ID

M3 Lee I am sure. Between the pictures here and the models and such at the museum last night. It was kind of neat having our own support group. "I got my eye on a truck...." The rest of us "BUY IT!" Then there was the scene in the parking lot. Grown men crawling over each other to look...

    Bobbed Deuce in Palestine, TX

I am 60 miles SW of you. Welcome. I do not know of a bobbed M35 in our area. I know Sermis in Temple is collecting the parts to cut one, but that is it.

    Tank ID

The camera was in the door pocket of the Suburban Chris. By the time I saw the tank and started reaching for the camera, the truck was gone. I thought about chasing it down but I had Jennifer with me and we were going to each lunch with Colton so I didn't. The middle and right picture have...

New member near Fort Worth, TX looking for a Deuce

Sermis here on SS who lives in Temple has a drop side truck or two. PM and see if he wants to sell. Wart Hog who posted above from OKC has trucks to sell also.

    Tank ID

I left work at 1030 Central time today to go to my son's school for lunch. As I pulled up to US290 a tractor truck loaded down with a rusty tank went by headed East toward Houston. I couldn't get the camera out in time to get a picture. I also don't have David's book here at work so I thought...

    USAF Truck

Mark will call you if you remind him enough Joe. Actually, Mark is real close to Shepard AFB and just might have a few old USAF trucks in his collection.

EM pulse and the deuce, will it survive?

Just to add some more smiles to this thread. My two Gasser M35's had been bought by a country Dr. back in the '50's. He thought WWIII was going to happen any minute and wanted to be prepared. He died a few years ago and they had an estate sale. A month after the sale is when I heard that...

    M35 tranny lever function?

That rod tells the transfer case which direction the truck is moving. It was used on the older non air shift "Sprag" transfer cases. Your other trucks are air shifts I take it? You need it for the Sprag truck. It is just a reverse light actuator waiting for a switch on the air shift trucks.

SO UGLY BUT I WANT IT!

Now that is cool. A trenching tracked truck. I wonder if it would cut through rock? A person could make a fortune in West Texas with one of those things putting in water lines and making water canals/channels for irrigation.

    m101 cover

I got the Pliobond at my local Ace hardware. Just to be part of the group, I will put myself in line for a $35.00 top as well. I don't care which trailer it fits since I have some of each.

    m101 cover

6'x8' sound more like a M105 to me. Ask him what size rims/tires are on it and how many lug nuts. 16", 16.5" 5 or 8 lug rims is a 101. 20" 6 lug rims is a M105. Of course, it could be one of about 30 variants to the two main families listed above also.

    m101 cover

One of my M105's I picked up from GL had a top of this material and it was tore up pretty bad. 2 bottle of the glue Gimpy recommended, part of a bad inner tube and some patience later the top is on the trailer, doesn't leak and stands up to 50 mph trips down the road.

    Odd Brake booster question

You are correct Chris. I did learn that the hard way. Put something besides plastic air lines at least the first 3-5 feet from a compressor.

does anyone have ring mount for sale

Sermis might have one as well. Send him a PM.

    Odd Brake booster question

I still think it is a cool idea. Chris already wrote it, but OBA is On Board Air. You will need a constant running compressor and tanks to store air in. A line from the tanks will go to the airpack. Everything else on the air pack except the vent and the output air to the trailer should...

    Windows on a deuce

Oh, forgot to add that grease is your friend with the door window mechanism. I took my Gasser doors all the way down to just the shell, cleaned everything up and put it all back together with large amount of grease on the moving parts. Now a year later those windows still move with just a...

    Windows on a deuce

The door windows are very simple mechanical items. Same with the front windshield parts. Actually, the entire trucks are pretty simple mechanical items. What we have been trying to say is not to worry about the simple things that have nothing to do with getting down the road. Worry about...

    Odd Brake booster question

Interesting idea. You are just wanting to use it as an air valve, correct? I would suggest you plug all the outlet fittings and then just plumb in the air. Does your truck have OBA of some sort? Use a T to bring fluid to the airpack. Probably be best to have it down stream of the ABS or...

    Gasser Deuce Questions

Rebuilt and less than 1000 miles on the OA-331. 11.00-20 NDT tires and a hard top. I got 5.3 according to my speedometer on my last trip to Houston (130 miles). My speedometer is about 12% slow because of the bigger tires however. That gets me to right at 6 mpg. I was able to run 60+, but...
