RE: New guy questions
Single tires work better off road than dual tires. This was learned by the military in WWII. That is why the first version of the M35 was actaully the singled out on 11.00-20 tires M34. Same with the M211/M135 GMC series trucks. 8 tires pushing forward are hard to get...
Just 5 hoses. 1 for each rear axle (2), 1 to the front axle (3), 1 at each front wheel (5). You can do whatever you want. But, it seems you are trying to reinvent the wheel here. Order the set of hoses from ODIron that fit and are the proper size, made for the M35, used for more than 50...
Yes to the Tach picture.
Chris, speedometer accuracy to road speed is not important. Since the max shift speeds are actually drive shaft speeds for given rpm's in each gear. I use the indicated speed. I know my actual speed is actually about 12% faster than indicated because of the bigger...
I had the same problem finding ones for my Gassers. I have never checked it, but the M37 panel is real close. Some very helpfull fellow members sent me the ones I have now.
Are you wanting to make a restoration or a driving truck? I ask because if you took a multifuel dash panel and bolted...
If you find yourself in a spot where you don't have a 9/16" Hex or Allen. Grab any 3/8" bolt which has a 9/16" head on it. Use two nuts jambed together on the bolt to turn it with a regular 9/16" wrench. Vice Grips work good as well. So does welding a nut onto the bolt.
Buying the proper...

11.00-20 NDT tires will work as duals on the M35. At least, mine work just fine that...
It sounds like you have a bleeding procedure problem. But, what about brake shoe adjustment?
If the shoes are far from the drums, the first push of the pedal just gets them close and then the next push or two actaully applies the brakes. Read the manual about "major" and "minor" shoe...
I just got back from making a scrap run to Bryan. I passed a NG 5 ton, 5 ton wrecker and HUMVEE on the side of the road. They had a flat front drivers side rear super single on the 5 ton. The wrecker was turned around and ready to pick up the rear of the other truck. 3 guys were hanging from...
Rory,
My motor home recovery got pushed back to this weekend. I will be heading to Houston Saturday afternoon and then returning early Sunday morning. I will be in Bel air. If you need something brought back, let me know since I should have most of the Gasser bed empty.
If you pull the master off and then pull the guts out. Look down through the cap hole. You will see two holes in the bottom of the resevoir. A big one and a small one. The small one is your compensating port. If you can't see it from the top, look down the cylinder bore and you will see the...
Almost forgot another important thing. The old gauges were AC while the newer ones were Stewart Warner. Below is a picture of my gauge panel with the AC gauges that came with my replacement cab. I think it is a 1953 or 1954 Studebaker cab if that makes a difference to you. The air psi is...
The early (1952 and older) Gassers had electric air psi gauges. There was also another breaker on the back of the gauge panel itself. Having said that, you have the wrong gauge in your hand.
Yours should have the metal Douglas fittings on it and not the rubber Packard fittings. Both of my...
You can use regular car plug wires with the military cap and cover. You have to swap out your plugs though. Guys have done it with M715's. 7mm civilian plug wires, spark plug end obviously on the spark plug, cut the boot off the other end, strip the insulation back so just the black core is...
You can go pointless with a Pertronix plate where the points are and still have the military waterproof outside. What is your goal?
Performance, milage, top speed and economy of operation really won't be effected all that much by a different distributor. Get a multifuel for that. Now, ease...
I can't do anything money wise Chris due to a multifuel and 2 105 trailers being added to the heard in the next month. So, I give up my "first in line" position for parts. Thanks though.
The M35 has 5 rubber brake lines. Give ODIron a call and get all five. You will only have to bleed the system once, they will fit and you will know another one isn't going to go at the next light.
