I have to differ with you about the Gasser engine. I think a gasser truck is faster to get to speed, less noise, faster top speed since the engine redline is 3,400 rpm and they are unique as mentioned. About 1/2 the mpg as a multi and you have to buy the fuel instead of making it yourself...
RE: Re: RE: Does airshift affect speed/power?
To answer the original question, an airshift could be faster and more efficient.
A stock set up won't really be that much different going down the road. However, if you put lock out hubs on the front, then nothing in the front axle will be turning...
This comes up about once a month. I pointed out the specifications the vehicle was built to. Can it do more? Heck yeah. Look at my avatar, I pulled a M35 with my M715 with no troubles or problems.
Are you willing to explain to the police, an attorney and a judge why you had 35K in and...
Glad you got it on there.
There was a thread a year or so ago about Canadien Dueces and it had pictures of how they put cargo racks on top of the hard tops. Looked pretty cool, gave more much needed storage and covers up the dent.
RE: Re: Planning on buying my first Deuce
SouthTexas,
Registering in Texas as a former military vehicle is easy, cheap and painless. The VIN decoding has been done on here before. I hate to say it, but searching this site will reveal several threads about the VIN and Texas registration.
If...
Remove the soft top and all of the soft top bows.
I assume your hard top is a factory 2 piece type, so seperate the pieces.
Use a ball peen hammer to knock the holes on both the top and bottom of the back piece away from the cab and the top of the top.
Get some kind of rubber trim to fit over...
JEEP tail gates are out there. Expect to pay about 1/3 of your purchase price for one with no rust however. You need the tail gate and both sides of the hinges when you are looking.
VPW sells brand new metal for tail gates that have to be welded together. No lettering though.
Thanks for posting the pictures Randy. I read through all the above post thinking of how to describe that the u-joint couldn't have moved out and the entire assembly still be on the truck. Your picture did it.
While thinking about causes, what about "wind up?" Those of you with air shift...
I bought a valve cover gasket a month or so ago from Antelope Valley. It was shipped folded over. I let it sit out in the sun for a day to get nice and flat. Then I used 3M weather strip (The yellow stuff) to glue it to the valve cover. I don't glue to the engine so it will come off easy and...
Go to the "Resources" link at the top of this page and look at the TM's. Or, at the top of the Duece forum there are "sticky'" with the Duece manuals. the -10 is the operators manual and it will tell you all about how the stuff works.
If the timing works out, I will be picking up 2 M105's and a M101 at the same time. I don't have room for 3 trailers though and they are 400 miles away. Space saving thinking got applied and I came up with this.
Looking at the manuals, the max overal width of a M101 is 73.4". The inside...
I saw your picture and thought "That is the trailer I won last Thursday!" turns out, it is real close but looking at the duct tape patterns, I don't think so. See below.
I bought an ugly rusty trailer because it has the brake with a shiny cap. Hopefully, that means maintenance was done and...
Nice looking truck.
Now, you seem to write like you think you know it all. That is fine. We each have our own ways.
But, these fuel gauges are not know for being spot on right all the time. I would suggest you mark a spot on the inside the tank filler neck/filter, fill it to that mark...
I got mine from AB Linn for around $20-$25 a year ago. I don't know if he still has any. Mike at OD Iron probably has these as well. I don't know his price.
