It is basically a bolt on deal. You need a winch, pto, pto shaft, pto lever, the 4 frame extensions and some longer bolts. The bumper just gets flipped over.
He is talking about the rubber around the front windows. This is one of those installs that really depends on the individual doing it. I didn't like the way a screw driver pushed into the rubber so I ground a corner of a 1" putty knife to round it off and then went on my way.
It is also very...
I was looking at it as well. The hurricane kept me from bidding since I didn't know if I would have a house to bring it back to or not.
Very glad a fellow Ss member got it.
It is all kind of relative. Since sound is actually a wave that bounces around, think of throwing a super ball around inside your truck. The less solid stuff it hits, the less it bounces. So, for drive train noises, a soft top or hard top with insulation will be best.
Then you have the...
Glad to see you are still bringing them home Adam. I have a T-Hawk on mine that is out of balance too. I just haven't figure out which one. How did you figure it out?
Guns too. The little one will need a 1911 someday you know.
I was in a Cabellas store the other day and they had some real small hunting camo on display.
Congrats!
RE: Re: RE: Quiet cab?
The window open in the front and everything else closed trick is great. Above 30 mph.
I also have to tell you that the muffler does help. Especially at low speeds. Once you get about 35-40 though you get transmission noise, transfer case noise, tire noise, valve noise...
RE: Re: RE: Where do you get your WMO/Transmission fluid?
I have spent most of each evening this week going to every place in my small town looking to take the used oil off their hands. A waste company out of Austin has already been here. They supply 250 gallon tanks for the business to dump...
RE: Re: RE: Mileage going up on towed deuces?
I copied the -10 a few months ago a few post up. You will be fine in neutral and neutral.
Yes, pulling the front hubs and at least one axle shaft from each rear axle will keep anything outside of the axle center sections from turning. (Pull a...
RE: Re: RE: Swapping motors
The new truck going to have a winch? Put the winch on along with the pto shaft before you do the radiator. Less chance of screwing up the radiator and more room to work was what I found.
I used my M715 as a DD for almost 3 years. Hot in the summer, cold in the winter. I also stopped enjoying the drive. Now that I just drive it or the M35 to stuff like practice, Boy Scouts, trips to the store, etc... Basically, anything besides work every now and then, I enjoy driving them a...
Besides what Sermis pointed out, there might be a mount for an air compressor on the front of the engine as well. If you have it, might as well track down a compressor so you have On Board Air.
Years ago somebody used math to figure out that a M715, which is rated at 2500 pounds, can move down 7/8 of an inch to be at max payload. That version of the Zone has crashed and gone away so I can't replicate the numbers. But, I figure the same stand by for them applies to most military...
Tom, Spicer gear, put one of the CAT engines in his M35. It is tight, but it fits and drives great. Figure 34" between the frame rails. If it will fit that way, just about anything else can be made to fit.
